Making old tech new again
Presumably you'll already know if you need this product, but echoing what others have said, if e-sata to usb-c is what you are looking for, look no further. The cable works as it should, is sturdy, and the microelectronics are in a compact, robust looking node.I have an old dataTale raid array that was on the fritz. Replaced the power supply and got this cable and we are back in action. Long ago I used it over firewire 800, but on newer macs had been limited to the usb2 connection. Had never tried the e-sata connection, but with this e-sata to usb-c cable it is over 3 times as fast as the usb2 link, and sufficiently future proof to continue as a solid backup.

Helps to keep your older external hard drives useful
If you have an older external drive with an eSATA port, and you’re hoping to get some more mileage out of it, this is the cable for you. I had an old G-Raid drive, connected with a USB cable, and I found that some 4K footage was stuttering while editing In Premiere. After swapping in this new eSATA cable, I got a three-and-a-half times bump in speed (see photos) and playback problems were greatly improved. The only thing that kept this from being a five-star review was the price. $30 for a cable is a tough pill to swallow, but at least it does the job.

This is a USB-C to eSATA connector to connect to external hard drives. Pretty straight forward. Works as expected.

Worth every penny! OMFG!
I have a an old 2TB G-Drive (1 MICRO USB, 2 FW800, 1 eSATA) that I think, pre-dates Thunderbolt. I have tried every port on this drive except for eSata, until today. I can not recommend this cable enough! You must own it if you have any old HDDs that connects via eSata and you have a machine that uses USB-C. I am transferring 102GBs right now and its going to take 12-15 minutes. My mind is blown. Do no hesitate! You must buy this ASAP. I will purchase a second one as a back up cable. Also, this is the first time I have EVER left a review on Amazon.
