Used it twice without much success, then it stopped working all together. Every time I tried to access anything on the key it would say it was write protected. My husband who is pretty good at anything IT tried everything he could think of and anything else he found by searching online, but nothing would remove the write protection. I had bought quite some time ago the same usb in the 4gb format and it still works now, but for some reason this one does not. Really annoyed and frustrated and on top of that, the window for returning has passed, so I have also wasted my money.

Great service from supplier - however, as a user - I'd suggest that the cap be removeable, and that the USB itself be attached to the keychain - makes more sense - I'd rather lose a cap than the data on the stick - not something I thought about when browsing for the flash drive

The PRETEC Bulletproof USB stick is a great little device to hold all your photographic memories. We may never need its bulletproof, fireproof qualities, but it is a comfort to know they are there if required. Does exactly what we want it to do.

I had mine for a number of years. Occasionally it corrupts itself and needs to be reformatted - which is rather annoying. Worse, the insides sometimes slide-out and remain in the USB socket. Seems than despite its heavy chrome-brass case, the insides are only held in place with a flimsy bit of black plastic.Sometimes when I try to remove the cap, the other end unscrews instead, revealing the other end of the actual device - including a green LED that usually remains hidden. But it does show that the insides are just a basic cheap USB drive - nothing special.All-in-all, this device is hugely overpriced but relatively mediocre product. I won't be buying another - especially considering one can buy four ordinary USB sticks for the same price!
