We just took our time installing it following the instructions, which are pretty much just pictures, but it is understandable. I watched a youtube and checked a website about the different closer orientations which helped a lot! I ended up using the "parallel arm" style, so just use the template for your brackets and pay attention to the measurements of the template. That helped make sure I was putting everything in the right spot, and it worked out perfect. Took about an hour and a half, as someone who never put one on before.

Bought 2 for the gates on my fence. Expensive but I wanted Texas weatherproof from freezing rain to 140 degrees baking in the summer sun. Installation on #1 was a pain. Instructions are detailed but doing the first one take time figuring out how you want it mounted and operating. #2 was about half the time. Still made some mistakes on both but eventually I got it done.

This is a great closer. Great instructions, fits any application, and is easy to install and set up. Not the cheapest, but well worth the price.

The unit is extremely solid and well built. However, it came with the most confusing set of instructions I have ever encountered, bar none. I've installed the unit on my door but can't get it to work. I've requested technical assistance from the seller and two days later I'm still waiting. I will amend this review if and when I hear back from the seller. UPDATE: the seller reached out to me and supplied me with additional installation instructions. I ultimately got the unit to function and could not be happier with it now that it's operating. See included picture of my door. It's a very tall and very heavy CAT 5 storm door. Note the four hinges. This unit closes it completely and effortlessly every time. I would have given this unit five stars, if not for the confusing instructions, which I suggest the seller review for possible clarification.

Quickest I've ever installed a closer. Template was easy to use and helpful!

This product comes with instructions and a template. They however are really poorly written and it is very hard to understand how you are supposed to install unless you install door closers for a living. I have a commercial glass door and the amount of space you need for the door stopper is just too much. I don’t have 3.5 inches of clearance from edge of door to glass, so now it won’t work, and there’s no way to try to solve the problem getting creative because the instructions aren’t helpful at all trying to figure out how the product works

i was worried about making a mistake on a solid vertical grain door so i called to make sure. they were very helpful making sure i did it right the first time. after adjustment the door closer works great

Highly recommended. Ordered the door closers and they were shipped immediately. Great customer service, will use again in the future.

The mechanism is strong and adjustments work. Our issue with cold weather in the winter is how you need to readjust slightly to avoid non closing.

Easy to install and adjust.

Arrived quickly and in good condition. Easy to install. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Adjustments were straight forward and linear using an allan key. I liked the backstop feature and the latch feature. It was important for this door to latch fully to activate the security lock, and with this door closer I could set it to close with the right amount of force without slamming the door. Body is good solid cast aluminum. Actually mechanism (spring and oil hydraulics) is no larger than the standard light duty types of door closers. The body shown in the pictures is a plastic cover.) I would buy it again.
