How is this cables transfer speeds?

My experience: Two computers, one Win7Pro64bit & the other Win10Pro64bit, that both have ultra fast M.2 solid state disks for the operating system & programs & huge Raid 5 arrays for my accumulated files, data, music, & pictures, & USB 3.0 ports. The ultra fast M.2 SSDs averaged 99.3 GB/hour, 27.6 Mb/sec, transfers while the Raid 5 arrays were not far behind at 60.2 GB/hour, 16.7 Mb/sec.

2 questions, how well does the surface book 2 and a windows 10 pc work together with this and is there a usbc version of the cable

MANUFACTURERS ANSWER: Thanks for contacting us! I have just completed a transfer between a Surface Book Windows 10 machine, and a Dell Windows 10 laptop without any trouble. Surface Book 2 should work just fine as well in similar fashion as the hardware specs are improved. Currently, we offer only USB 2.0 and 3.0 versions of the cable. I hope this helps! will this work to transfer vista to windows 10

It did for me Vista desktop to Win10 desktop. As well as XP, Win7, 8.1 to Win 10. When Win10 was free I switched my family over to Win 10 using 1 monitor.

Will this function if the cable is plugged into a hub at the sending machine instead of directly into the sending machine's USB port? Thanks.

Not a 100% sure but the purpose is to transfer directly data from one machine to another. It was not designed to go through a hub. Especially if their is other devices on it as well.
