It performs really well, is budget friendly, and I would highly recommend it for any kind of Audio/Voice Recording and a piece that you can use in a variety of settings. It has a sleek design, is a great portable size, and stands great on anyone’s desk. Bought this for an older relative for Xmas who was having trouble with the built in mic on her iMac. This mic is very basic but sometimes that’s just what you need, to not over complicate things. Inexpensive and worked right it of the box. No tech support needed thankfully! She uses it to ‘speak to text’ her emails. She reports sound quality is good! In addition, she has expressed interest in starting a YouTube channel for collecting teapots which seems like this will be a good fit for that too, as it should not pick up background noise since is uni-directional mic.

OVERALL: The mic is good enough for what you need to use it for, skype, gaming, comms and amateur VOs. Can be used for other applications, you could use it for music. Don't expect pro level audio but with a little tweaking and some sound editing you could produce decent quality. Drivers: Support is there, with basic microsoft drivers. Although as of writing this I am not aware if there is any other drivers that would help the mic work even better, one would have to see what microcontroller or COB that this uses for more information. However when it comes to choosing the level of audio rates, it is single channel 16 bit and 48,000hz it is locked at. Which is fine and probably for the best for a catch all.Cosmetics: It's a mic, with a base, a decent windfilter, it's basic and that is essentially it.Weight: It's rather light, too light, will be slightly top heavy, use some blue tack to nail it down better if you don't want it to go anywhere.Conclusion:It's works, cheap enough and does what it does if you expect realistically at this price range. The incoming sounds is on the higher end so you will need to artificially include some lower end to get the warmth needed for sound. It is decent with a minor buzzing background due to isolation but it isn't that bad if you lower the input volume to middle or quarter to 0 and you'll be fine.-EDIT-The buzzing, is interference from other devices's powersupplies. Keep this in mind if you're getting a buzzing or hum noise in recording.

This mic works fine, however it doesn't have a mute button (there is only an on-off button). I didn't understand how crucial it was until I started using it for work for online meetings where I have to mute/unmute frequently. If I use the on-off button to mute, the operating system will decide that I have no mic and will show pop-ups. When I switch it on, it will take a few seconds for Windows to recognize the new device and make it available for use. Now I have to mute/unmute the software app using my mouse. With a mute button I would have given this 5 stars.

The media could not be loaded.  Are you looking for a quality sounding microphone on a budget? The SGYD Microphone is a good combination of price and sound quality! Also, the flexible design of the microphone allows the user to arrange the microphone in countless different positions! The microphone is good at detecting sound in multiple different locations with the omnidirectional design.It's super easy to use, just plug the microphone into your PC and press the power button on the microphone. Once the microphone is plugged in, the LED light at the base of the microphone will turn green. You then be able to speak into the microphone. Once of the biggest surprises while testing this microphone was the sound quality and how the microphone reduced background noise with no filters on or noise gates. I am able to type away on my keyboard while hearing minimal sound from my keyboard.Positives:+Flexible design+Omnidirectional+Reduces background noise+Decent sound qualityNegatives- The base can be tipsy when pressing the on button-No push to activate button / Push to talk-Doesn't work with PS4Overall:For the sound quality of the microphone, I was expecting worse for the price to be honest. I was pleasantly surprised also on how the background noise was reduced with no noise gates on. Although this microphone doesn't work on the PS4, I'm still really happy with this microphone on my PC and if your looking to use this microphone around the office, skyping or vlogging. I think you will be satisfied with your purchase.

A simple comparison between recording with this mic as opposed to the laptop mic reveals a striking difference, mainly that the laptop mic is much better. I did everything I could think of in the settings to get this thing to work, but the volume is incredibly low. I'm not having anywhere near the experience of the five-star users here. So buyer beware. You may get lucky, or like me, you'll get a dud.
