AO Coolers NU-ICE Ice Enhancer, 5 lbs

I compared the cooling capacity of this versus Blue Ice Weekender ice packs. This Nu-Ice product provides about 10% more (or longer) cooling, but it's also slightly larger (volume-wise) than the Blue Ice. It is thinner (1" vs. 1.5"), so maybe you can sandwich these between food items a little better, but the Blue Ice can stand up on edge in your cooler. Overall the performance is about the same, and given the much higher price of these, I'd just as soon use the Blue Ice packs. Save your money.

I've owned these NU-ICE paks for more than a year, but was only able to use them a week ago on a camping trip. Bottom-line - I'm impressed! I used a heavy-gauge Styrofoam cooler to store a case of beverages for the trip. After 5 days of camping, the paks were still solid in the middle. It should be noted that I also had some additional bottled ice in the cooler to compare results. Therefore, it would be somewhat unfair to give all the credit to the paks for this stellar performance, however, after years of using the traditional freezer paks, it is obvious these considerably outperform the cheaper products.

This is a big ice pack. It does ok but I'm pretty sure it doesn't last as long as advertised. I'm a pilot and I use it to keep my food cold on 4 day trips. It usually stays cold for the first day without a freezer, but on day two of the trip its cold but not frozen, so I don't trust it to keep my food cold after that. Its pretty bulky and heavy too so since it doesn't perform as advertised I stopped using it. Pretty expensive too.

I am a pilot and have been using this in my lunch bag when I go on 3-4 day trips. I think its a pretty good icepack. It does not create too much condensation and stays cool for a while. I didn't give it a higher star rating because The packaging says last up to 96 hrs and in my everyday use this is not true at all. I would say it stays cold for a good 48 hrs which is far from 96 hrs. However it still beats most ice packs by a mile.

The cooling works well and lasts a long time. However, the packaging is too thin and cuts easily but the company was very responsive in sending a patch kit. I ended up sealing mine using a foodsaver vacuum packager to provide added protection.

When you order this item you get a 0 degree not 20 degree pack. I have tried to order it twice with the same result. The 20 degree product is very good, but the 0 degree melts too fast for my use.

THEY ARE GREAT MY LAST ONE LASTED UP AFTER 3 AND YEARS. AND NOW IT'S TIME TO GET A SET. THEY ARE GREAT AND I WILL CONTINUE BUYING THE UNTIL I RETIRE FROM WORK....

Works really well as an ice substitute. I can put one of these in a cooler and it will still be solid as a rock after 12 hours. Much more convenient than messing with bags of ice. Only downside - it is NOT flexible in the least when frozen solid. So pay attention to how you place it in the freezer if you want it to be as flat as possible.
