Only I had known about this crimping tool
I never knew such a tool existed. If only I'd known about this years ago. I have destroyed many wire terminals by applying too much pressure. This cramping tool takes the guesswork out of it as each hole size is color coded to match the included terminals. It does an outstanding job squeezing and putting the exact amount of pressure on the terminal and to secure it. This cramping tool is nothing short of awesome. This is one of my new favorite tools!

Easy to Use
For hard to reach places I had some plier crimpers I used, but they really wasn’t the best tool for the job. These are.I’ve had ratchets before, but they can be awkward to use. One significant plus for these are that you can close the ratchet just tight enough to hold the connector, but not actually crimp the connection close. This allows you to set the connector and slide the wire in when you’re ready. It sounds stupid, but not all ratchets do that and that has caused poor crimps or ruined connectors. The connectors that come with the ratchet are pretty good too. The heat shrinks really secure the seal.Highly recommended 👍🏽 Helpful?👇🏽

Heavy duty
This is a nice wire connector assortment with a good crimper. Just grab a connector for the wire size (gauge) in use, set it in the corresponding (color coded) notch in the crimper jaw and squeeze. It crimps on the right side jaw.Once the handles of the crimper have been "squeezed", they must make a full stroke before the tool will release to open, so keep that in mind during use. (If it won't open...squeeze some more until it releases.)The connectors are "heat shrink" for a good seal on the wire.Nice set! Hope this helps!

Work well, just make sure to overlap the stripped conductors!
This is a quality tool that works well. The photo in the directions shows you to overlap the stripped conductors before you crimp, but the directions do not say this explicitly. What the manual should say is:1. Overlap the stripped conductors (do not just butt the ends!)2. Center the tool jaws over the crimp connector (there is a slight indentation)3. Squeeze the ratcheting crimper handle until it releases. The shrink tubing makes the slice neat and water resistant (possibly water proof!) I'm happy with this tool.

Decent, but Not Great, Butt Connector Set
I have worked with several similar sets, butt connectors are an incredibly efficient way of making electrical connections that will hold, be insulated and remain intact long term when done correctly with the proper tools. This set comes with ample connectors and the ratcheting crimping tool holds the connector well as the wires are fed in each side and then crimped. What I found though is even when I had seemingly had my wires completely crimped one wire would still pull free about half of the time.As stated, I have worked with these sets many times and I repeatedly tested differing aspects of the connectors - from what I have discovered the only way to truly have both wires stay secured is if they over lap completely in the center. This is often difficult depending on the wiring situation. While this set is usable there are others that I turn to that I have found far more dependable.
