Works great
The Alinco DM430-T provides a stable 13.8V supply for my Yaesu FTDX3000 transceiver. The output current rating is 30A peak, 25A continuous. I like having the fixed vs variable voltage switch so I don't have to worry about accidentally turning the voltage adjust knob above 13.8 V when powering the radio. If needed, you can fine tune the fixed voltage by tweaking a pot inside the unit. When first powered up, the fan comes on for a few seconds, then turns off until the temperature rises above a certain level. I hardly notice it when receiving or transmitting SSB or CW, when the average current is low enough that the fan stays off most of the time. For higher duty cycle Tx modes such as AM, FM, or RTTY, I would expect the fan noise to be more noticeable. The digital voltage and current display is a nice feature, although the LCD backlight is a bit bright for my taste. I haven't noticed any spurious signals from this switching power supply in the ham bands. Overall, it fits my needs very nicely.
