Good for beginners
It's ok for beginners, not much to see if u have used anything better...but my granddaughter loved it. Having lots of fun looking at included slides and learning about them.

Slides are educational
The kids love it. Comes with slides, but the kids liked finding stuff from outside to put on the blank slide. Its educational, yet fun.

Better for very young children
My six year old tells me he wants to be a scientist, so I was excited to give him this Microscope to help develop his interests. However, I have mixed feelings about this one. While the age range says 4-6, as a first grader this is too much of a pretend play toy for my son. It does have a glass with 8X magnification, and a small light. However the "slides" are images copied onto projector transparencies at different sizes. My son has looked at all 24 and wants to try to look at new things, but that's outside the scope of this toy. That said, my four year old loves it and is happy to only use the printed slides. If you are just trying to introduce science concepts through play to a young child, this toy works for that purpose. If your child is actually starting to be interested in real science, then go for an actual microscope that will last longer and promote that interest.

Very nice!
We got this for my granddaughters birthday present. She is going to love it! It is packaged well and we can’t wait for her to get started with it.

Disappointed in the magnification
This product is definitely kid friendly. It's easy to use, but it's seriously lacking magnification. It looks to me like it maybe doubles the image, at best. I know this is a kids toy, but I could have bought a Walmart magnifying glass that would have done a better job than this product did.It does come with a ton of slides, a follow along story book, and a blank slide to create your own slide.Requires AA batteries

More like a prop
This product is good for kids who don’t know better about what a microscope is actually capable of doing (set the expectation). It’s more like a prop than an actual microscope. The slides showing different levels of magnification are fun and having a blank slide is good also. Great for younger kids (3-4yr)

A bit disappointing.
A bit disappointing. No focusing - only uses a loose plastic magnifying lens, not a proper lens built in. Single blank slide is open - does not have a surface for placing exhibit. Suggest age for a 3 to 4 year old, not 4 to 6.
