The light is nice and lit the hallway much nicer than my old fixture which burnt out those small global bulbs every month. There are a few things to care for when installing. It took about 10 minutes from start to finish, and I offer these steps to help you do so too. 1. Have a separate light source so you can see what you are doing. 2. Make sure there is at least 4 inches of source black/white wiring to be able to work it in place 3. Do not use the 3 felt feet as it puts a space between the fixture and the ceiling and it wont catch the bracket. I removed the old fixture and pulled the black/white wires out as long as possible. I removed the wire cover from the new light, and the mounting plate too I then used the 2 screws that provided to attach the plate to the existing mounting bracket inside the existing fixture. Make sure the new bracket sits flush to the ceiling and doesn't creep into the hole, else the flanges do not stick out enough and won't catch on the light. I attached the new bracket and stuck the wires into the holes (Black = L, white = N). I gave them a tug to be sure they wont come out. ** While now hanging from the ceiling I tested the light. I then put the wire cover back on. I had to use a stubby screw driver since you have very little room to work, but it only took 10 turns or so to get it in. ** Once it's screwed on test the light again!!! Sometimes the wire may come out if you didn't push it in hard enough. Then I lifted the light over one of the bracket clips (I suggest the one that is "closest" to the ceiling hole). If the light cannot "catch" the first clip, then you need to loosen the screw a few turns to allow the bracket to be less flush to the ceiling. Once I got the bracket under one of the clips , I pulled the metal "bracket release" and lifted the other end of the light and push it against the ceiling with some force to ensure it's flat. I then let the catch release go and it grabbed the light... took a few times. The light was then holding nicely and I was done. People complain about the battery cover being hard to put back on. If the wire out of the ceiling is too short then simply put a longer dongle/wire and you should be fine. People also complain about the light not being able to grab the bracket... you cannot use the felt feet and you may have to not tighten the bracket too hard against the ceiling. All in all it took just some care and an extra try or two to get it mounted. A little more effort but for the price it was worth it.

I purchased this for use on a home project and the ease of installation paid for itself. The functionality was what I was hoping for. Really brightened up the area. I will be using this seller in the future.

I like this light. I'm happy with the look, the form factor, and the twist-on, flush ceiling mount. It gives off a bright white light, perfect for a big kitchen. NOTES: Some might find it too bright for a small area, unless they are looking to do detail work and need a lot of white, "daylight" light. We have a large kitchen and we like it bright. This light fixture replaced an aging overhead light with two round fluorescent bulbs (one large 12 inch, combined with one small 8 inch). Also, I knew this new fixture might not match our old fixture's "footprint" on our kitchen ceiling so I had no worries about that, but some might not be happy if a 13 inch fixture does not cover their old fixture's opening, etc. It may mean drywall work, spackling and painting. The mounting plate and hardware were all in the package, and the mounting plate had a LOT of mounting options, so it was easy to match up with a standard U.S. electrical box (your experience may vary). Once the mounting plate is installed, the fixture is easily screwed onto the mounting plate. Having said that, you need to have some electrical and/or home renovation experience to install a product like this because it does not and should not plug in to an outlet. You have to hard-wire it, which means getting an electrician to install it or installing it yourself (not everyone is up for that). Finally, the install instructions are a bit thin. Biggest item not mentioned: since the light fixture itself twists onto the mounting plate, there is no room for wires below the mounting plate. Plan to use an electrical box, so you don't just stuff your wiring connections up into the ceiling to make everything fit flush.

Would and will buy again. Great light for bathroom. Good quality and bright.

These fixtures spread the light out better than similar products which only illuminate the area directly below the fixture. The frosted light cover directs light down as well as to the sides, so you don’t end up with a spotlight effect. The only negative is the installation procedure. If you have short electrical wires coming out of your ceiling electrical box you may find it difficult to insert the wires into the fixture. Instead of having wire leads coming out of the fixture, these fixtures require you to insert the existing wires into the fixture’s wire clips which is difficult if you don’t have long leads. To rectify the situation I inserted my own electrical wires into the fixture and used wire nuts to secure them to the electrical box wires. One other tip is to be sure to take a picture of the mounting bracket before you remove it from the fixture to begin installation. Pay attention to which way the bracket needs to face. If you accidentally attach the bracket upside down, which I did at first, it will make it very difficult to snap the fixture into the mounting bracket.

As others have said, the installation was quite simple. I helped my husband with the install & I have to repeat what others have said. (Do not add the 3 bumpers to the bottom of the fixture as it will make it hard to attach). My only other recommendation would be to mark the area on the side you plan to attach last as it will be easier lining it up to finish the installation. I was worried that it would hug the ceiling too close or not close enough. I’m actually very happy with the look of it. My bathroom is long and narrow & my old fixture would only light up one side of the bathroom well, where as this one throws more light the full length of the bathroom. There are no color options, it is not dimmable and there is no motion detector. This is a very simple light. I can’t speak for its Lifespan as I’ve just put it up. As for functionality, I’d say this is perfect. Not too big, not too small. Just right.

It's not a safety compliant light, and I could tell that from the connection box. It seems like they bought some kind of plug in light, took the CORD off, and put a connector on it. The light assembly has no ground, it is just a tiny compartment where you can Only stick the wires through the small hole that looks like it was meant to fut in 16 gauge or smaller CORD, not cables or soft or hard wire. It's not even possible to strip and plug the wires into the connector at the compartment, you have to strip them and Then poke them through the hole, which is completely unsafe. Outside the electrical compartment, there is a Tiny "rail" space for your wires to fit between the assembly and your ceiling. If you have Hard wires, you Will struggle to get the wires to fit so you can snap the assembly on the mount. The space, again, is made to fit a Soft Cord, not wites, and certainly not any splices. I struggled at the ceiling for almost an hour with exactly That, trying to get the wires into a position so that Icould get the light on at all. It was such a struggle that the wires came out of the connector(inside the assembly) and the light fell. Fortunately, it is Not fragile. I had to do it all over again, and I ended up Not even tightening the mount all the way just so I could have space for wires. It doesn't really matter because the assembly is light and the indent space is open anyway, so there would be no enclosure even if you were able to flush mount it. The light itself was "sufficient", but it is Not designed for a bathroom. There was not enough dispersal to reach my bath all the way, and this is not a big bath room. It seems to be better sized for a moderate closet. In terms of brightness, yes, it is very bright and white. The area is well lit. I was an electrician.

Firstly beware the pictures. The photoshopped picture of the light over a spa bathtub is particularly egregious. The 15W version of this light is a bit less than 9 inches. It's small (as far as lights go!). In their defense, they DO include the measurements. I had some concern over the comments about the narrow spacing of the mounting bracket holes. As it turns out, the light fixture I was replacing (a bulb-eating, ginormous 20" dual circline fluorescent with a dodgy ballast) already had an adapter to adapt the standard (wide) North American box spacing to the narrower one. So i was simply attaching two screws. Wiring is another matter. 12 gauge romex doesn't fit in the snap in wire locks. So I had to use some wire nuts and the smaller gauge wires from the fixture I was replacing. Also, there is no earth/ground connection on the plastic housing. I drilled and added one to the metal mounting bracket, but it is essentially useless and really only there to make me feel better and show the fire investigator that I tried.. Lastly, this DOES NOT have a UL certification. So it almost certainly doesn't meet NEC code. It does show a CE and (oddly) an FCC approval. But I wouldn't bet on those being actual valid approvals considering the manufacturing source. Caveat Emptor. All that being said, it's bright. It's cheap. It installed quickly. It cost less than half of a replacement 19" circline fluorescent bulb and far less than the two I would have needed plus a $30 ballast. If it lasts a year I will be happy. Anything more than that I will be ecstatic.
