Surprisingly Good, Not just for School projects
I use this microscope for my dog breeding operation, and it’s been amazing! The quality is solid, and it feels well-made even though it’s lightweight. The ease of use is a huge plus it super simple to set up and operate, even for beginners. The clarity is excellent; I can clearly see what I need when checking my stud’s samples. The functionality is great too, and I love that it comes with a soft-touch case that’s not hard or bulky but still keeps everything protected. Everything fits perfectly and is easy to take in and out. For the price, it’s great value for money—reliable, clear, and does exactly what it’s meant to do. Highly recommend!

High quality at a surprisingly low price.
Wonderful gift! Older kids (and younger kids with a bit of supervision) will love this. Screen allows multiple people to view at the same time. Onboard camera allows saving of displayed images. Well designed and made. Rechargeable battery powered permits using without power cord. Resolution excellent!

Works but has two major flaws
So I bought this for a way to picture parasite ova with scale markers for identification purposes. This doesn't require high magnification. A couple big flaws for my purposes. 1) the ad is misleading. if you take a picture with the scale markers on, the scale won't show up in the copy of the picture. It's an overlay on the screen not part of the screen itself. So the only way to get both at the same time is to use your phone camera to take a picture of its screen, which will come out blurry, and then you have to try to keep track of which you were picturing across two devices. Very inconvenient. 2) you have to manually add and change the scale markers between each lens, this is not automatic, and it's several steps to do. Makes things take so long. If you don't change it every time you switch lenses youll be seeing the wrong scale and come to wrong size. It also requires you to do some math to figure out the true number of the size, and there's no unit listed anywhere. I assume it's ūm, but I already know microscopes. Less trained individuals would be like, "Ok so it's 20, but 20 what?" There is zero information on this in the manual. Not very user friendly for something that's supposed to be educational. Very frustrating. 2) there are just 3 magnifications on this. How it works is you can see the magnification from the lens and then it just digitally zooms in from there until you're at the next lens' magnification with increasingly worsening picture quality. So basically this is three magnifications with zoomable pictures. It works but it's not ideal. I love that I'm not hunched over or straining my eyes to see what's going on. it's metal and heavy enough to not be shaking around, and the knobs are smooth but those functions are not enough to really justify the price for me given that it's really just 3 magnifications with a camera. Not when there are much cheaper options that are not as clunky and can perform much better magnification... Over all.. it's meh.

This thing is wonderful.
My granddaughter loves it. I bought it with some slide sets and some plain slides (so she can wipe boogers on it) and it works great. I have an embarrassing collection of microscopes for a variety of special uses and thought about buying or giving her a "real" microscope. This is a no brainer for a kid. The display rocks. Much better than trying to get a kid to peer down a tube. I have microscope cameras for my real microscopes, and the image quality at low magnification is pretty damn good with this thing. Recommended for aspiring scientists of ALL ages.
