Sashiko Cup Set

I like to brew my tea in a tall stainless steel 24oz tumbler and then pour it into a small cup to sip on. I wanted something white or off-white inside so I can see the color of tea, but I like pretty exteriors. I was worried about these being unstable cause of the small base, but they’re not easy to tip over at all. They stack great. Another reviewer mentioned that they are too hot to pick up, but I haven’t found that to be an issues at all. My green tea is steeped at 170 degrees which isn’t too hot to the touch. I tested it with an herbal tea steeped with boiling water. It was too hot to pick up, but it was also way too hot to drink so not a big deal. Not filling it all the way to the brim helps too, cause then you can lift it by the top of the cup. The pattern on the outside is raised/textured and actually it’s less hot if you hold the cup on the textured part, even if it’s filled all the way to the top.

These are very cute teacups. It's enough for one small serving with plenty of refills to follow. The green/blue/yellow/pink color designs are as vibrant as pictured. However, the thin top and bottom border is more taupe than golden. The colored designs are printed on while the taupe border is hand painted. They did a decent job at trying to line up the seam on the colored designs but you can still notice it a little (I uploaded a few photos of it). It's a very minor defect and honestly it doesn't bother us at all. I'm pretty sure it's ceramic. They're adorable overall. We also use these as sake cups in our household (only filled halfway though :3). They come in a box and should not incur any damage during shipping. Highly recommended!

These are absolutely adorable teacups! Like really, they're incredibly sweet and dainty. However, and this is a big however, they transfer heat as if it's a cup you're not supposed to put hot water in! Meaning, you cannot pick this cute teacup up to drink your tea because you will burn your hands off! You have to wait for the teacup to become bearable to hold and by that time your tea is significantly cooler as well. I still use them because they are so lovely looking, but I put cream in my tea to lessen the heat transfer or I use them for juice in the morning. Still disappointing though...I don't want my guests burning their fingers when I ask them to tea!

I have two sets of these cups. They are very adorable and I enjoy drinking out of them. They're not too large, maybe about 5-8 ounces, so they are good for when you've made a big pot of tea. I look forward to using these with guests-- they're obviously a set, but since they are different colors, no one will get confused about which cup is theirs.

Now I can put snacks in a smaller "package". These are very cute and a good buy. Would recommend them to dieters and lovers of double shot espressos. Holds just the right amount to pour into your steamed milk.

Whether they are for everyday use or just sit there as cupboard display in a set, these great teacups deliver a sense of elegance, grace, and serenity. Very beautifully made.

In love with these. High quality and they seem like they'll be durable. Just like with any delicate dish, I'd wash by hand.
