I guess the lesson here is that excellent clothing manufacturers don't necessary make excellent shoes. That said, these may wear very well and gain favor as they age. They looked a little beat up right out of the box, this is partly because toe and heal are distressed - I think- intentionally, a feature not mentioned in the description. Then there's the space between the interior lining and the outside of the shoe, not sure what that's about?The color really is medium gray - like what gave "gray area" it's name. Would have liked darker. Yet, I decided to keep them, mostly because the price kept going up on the remaining inventory.
