Great, great grass
You cant go wrong with this seed. I planted 300 sq ft last week. i took up some dead sod and prepped the area, gave it some starter fertilizer from Lowes. Hand seeded using only a half bag (bag will do 1000 sq ft), and covered with peat moss. then for the next 9 days of 90+ I have been watering 3 times a day and the pictures show we have about 1-1/2" tall blades. it is coming up very well with flower petals falling and even some bird seed that blew onto the new lawn. We will weed them out when we can walk on it.I will update this after the first mow.Update 1 month later: I have had to mow twice now. The lawn if lush and green. I have stepped the watering back to every other day and it is still hot out in the hi 80s-90s. I have added a third photo sorry if they are sideways. This grass seed is by far the best I have ever used. I am very happySept Update:Its been almost 7 weeks now and I really could cut this new lawn twice a week. The grass is getting very thick and healthy looking. last 2 pics are from today.

Update: So Far, So Good !!...and Then??
A co-worker researched this grass seed as we both own property in Southern MD. As anyone who lives here knows, the soil is clay-like and supports growing moss more than grass. So based on other reviews of this product we purchased the seed and set about our spring seeding. So far, the product is coming in great, even in areas with moderate shade and my trouble area that is mostly gravel (threw down some seed not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised by the new growth). The reason I say "so far, so good" is that while I am highly encouraged that the seed germinated and sprouted in a most excellent fashion, the real test is yet to come...will it survive the summer months when this MD soil tends to get rock hard. Hoping for the best and will update this post as time passes. Update Sep 7, 2019: Well, the grass really tried to survive, but the MD summer was too much for it. Even with regular watering, the grass eventually gave up the ghost, and succumbed to the heat. I may try restarting in the fall to see if more time to get established makes a difference.

Results improved with second seeding
UPDATE: I went back and reseeded the areas that remained bare the last time and the grass is coming in nicely this time. I’m thinking it wasn’t so much the grass seed the first time but possibly using too much peat moss or other issues. Changing my rating from 3 to 4 stars.I was really hoping for good results with this grass seed but after doing everything that I read to do online - tilling the soil, putting starter fertilizer with the grass seed, covering it with a thin layer of peat moss, and watering twice a day, after 10 days, the grass seed has only come up in about 50% of the area I planted it. Very disappointed.

Low quality seed
I overseeded in Fall 2022 as I usually do every fall(dethatch/aerate then overseed). I have several patches to fix from the drier than usual summer in nJ and I wanted to try this seed being that it is RTF. Well, the germination rate was extremely low compared to other seeds I've used so now I've got to reseed again in the spring. I'll give it benefit of the doubt and decided to purchase again this spring(2023) overseed to see if I get better results. After receiving the seed I took a look at tag and the mixture quality has definitely degraded. The fall bag only contained 3 quality culitivars with 0 weed seed and 0 other crop seed. This new bag contains contains multiple seed types including ky-41 which I can only assume is a slightly prettier cousin of ky-31 which is basically pasture grass. I'm highly disappointed with the seed mix especially coming from barenbrug. Best to stick with what works which is gci or jonathan green. Won't be buying this cr*p again.I've attached the tag for you to decide. Needless to say, I returned this seed immediately.

Grows fast!
I recently tried this Water Saver Grass Seed with RTF in Colorado Springs. Prior to seeding, I tried to work the dirt with a garden trowel, loosening it and getting rid of weeds and tree roots, etc. In one area, I just used a manual tiller (more towards our neighbors’ side). There was a tip about using a lawn starter fertilizer when sowing grass seed, so I did that first. Then spread grass seed by hand and lightly covered with EKO compost from Home Depot. Watering was done 3-4x a day depending on the heat.In one week I saw grass sprouting! It was so exciting! Soon after, a couple of deer came to lounge on the grass. Those areas still seem to be growing ok!I’m going to add more seed and compost to certain areas, and have over seeded the small front lawn as well. It’s my hope that this will be a low maintenance grass that will do well with less irrigation. But so far, I’m happy!

Not worth the hype
I was not impressed. Also grew some weeds and funny kind of grass. I really don't think I used less water and the results was ok

Good Seed
This seed is everything they say it is. I live in the Northern Sierra Nevada Foothills, elevation 2200. It gets hot here in the summer, some snow in the winter. Drought in California. All that, good extremes. I planted it a year ago and it's doing great.Granted, I did good prep, but even good prep allows for some trouble. No trouble here. It all came in quite nicely. It is planted on the east side of the house. Some only gets morning sun and a lot of shade, some gets blazing afternoon heat and almost all day sun. It looks great in both locales. Once established it does grow slow. I only mow twice a month. I could go 3-4 weeks, but I'm a little anal. It also does not require a lot of water. I water for ten minutes once a week. That's it. It did start showing some drying in the blazing afternoon sun section when we were in a week long 100 degree heat wave, but a little extra water took care of that. Highly recommend. If I plant another lawn, I will definitely use this seed.

Amazing & Easy Grass Seed!
I've tried several other brands of grass seed with no avail. This grass seed cones in well & matches my other backyard grass perfectky (no different color patches like other grass seeds grow in as).I'm gonna as use this throughout my yard for bare spots. I can't wait for a perfectly full yard with the same color grass throughout.Best grass seed I've used!
