Another fun drone from Drocon
I can't believe I bought another drone from Drocon not long after buying my first one just a few weeks ago, but there you are. This second one is as fun as the first (Ninja), it's bigger and it flies for a MUCH longer time (15 minutes, sometimes a wee bit longer). The user manual is an easy read, as is the thoughtful info card that comes laying on top of the controller when you open the box. That card describes graphically what each stick and button does, and still being a novice at this I appreciated that extra bit of help. This drone's battery charges fairly quickly and once it's popped into the back the drone and controller are ready to be paired and off we go. My grandchildren love how this one looks and how it takes to the air at the press of a button. It hovers at the same level very nicely (barometer controlled). It doesn't have a "return to home" feature like more expensive drones have (no on board GPS), but it does have a button for takeoff and landing which, for the cost, is a good tradeoff. The camera slides in under the drone and a short USB cable plugs it into the underside of the quadcopter. It has a short WiFi wire coming out the back of the camera that enables you to see everything on your smartphone (or VR headset). A 4GB SD card comes with the drone that inserts into the side of the camera so you can download video to your PC. I believe the camera can take a SD card up to 32GB.The controller has a neat phone holder that pulls up from the top of the controller and allows you to secure your phone in front of the two foldable antennas. All in all, a very neat and efficient setup. If the drone and controller sense a weakening WiFi signal (drone's almost too far away), you'll hear some beeping as a warning. The same kind of warning if the drone's battery is too low.Last but not least, the permanently molded (attached?) prop protectors are flexible and can take a beating. They can't be removed (without cutting them off), which is a good thing if you're prone to a lot of crashes.I definitely recommend this fun air vehicle to both novice and experienced pilot.

Good starter drone.
I'm liking it so far. It seems to be really good as a starter. On negative for me is that the phone support extension is not tall enough for my Galaxy S9+, I'm going to have to find a used phone on Facebook market. Trim is a little tricky for a first timer. When I take off it flies to the left a little. Overall, I like it and would suggest it as a starter. I'd be happy as a pig in slop if it was not made in China. ☹ Battery could last a little longer but it's good enough when learning.UPDATE: 01/03/2019The blade guards are really flimsy and do not protect the blades at all, if you bump something they flex and hit the blades. Probably why extra blades are included.UPDATE: 01/04/2020 My Galaxy S9+ is 2.875" across and will barely fit in the holder. I had to remove my Otter Box to get it in there. When putting my phone in the holder, it felt like I might break trying to get it in there. It flops back against the antenna but I don't know if it's going to interfere with the signal. I plan on finding an older cheap phone on Facebook market.

Looks good so far, and great warranty!
I will definitely supply feedback relevant to the product when I have flown it a few times. I just received the drone in the mail today and as of right now, I'm still in unboxing and battery charging mode. Have yet to take it outside to try it out. So far I am well satisfied as to how the drone was boxed and shipped. All the parts were present and accounted for. I am having a bit of a problem figuring out how to attach the camera to the drone. It looks like it would be a straightforward operation, but so far I'm trying to attach it to the drone body without forcing anything. Had to lose a star in the review for that, but I understand that an updated user manual is available on the company's website along with the download for the camera linkage to your phone, plus the warranty registration. Was pleasantly surprised with the terms of the warranty. 90 day money back guarantee including shipping cost and a 1 year warranty on the drone itself. Love how the drone looks and the many features, which are usually only offered on the more expensive ones, and am really looking forward to my first test flight. This drone is the only one that I can find that doesn't have any horror stories in the reviews. Have just received it the mail today and am super excited to fly it, but the weather is way too windy to fly it today. I will update my review as soon as I have time to take it out and give it a go.

Great drone for 10 year old.
The product description states it is for ages 14+. My 10 year old had no trouble powering up the drone and making his first flight. The drone is made of good quality plastic. The blade guards are flexible so they don't break when hitting things. It comes with extra blades. The drone is larger than I was expecting. Assembly was easy, just attach the leg stands and charge the battery. Controls are easy to use, not over complicated, and it comes with a cardboard instruction sheet showing what the controls do. The drone advertises 15 minutes flight time. I think we had at least 20 minutes without camera usage. Of course my son flew it into a tree on his first time out and it got stuck in the branches. He was able to use the drone's own power to swing it free. He is very happy with this drone. We didn't try out the camera or cell phone connection yet. One of the reasons I bought this drone was the amazing pictures some users have posted on their reviews. Can't wait to try that out.
