Great, Great Monitor
Bought 2 of these 27-inch ones for £199 each on lightning deal.I had been researching for replacements for my 2 iiyama and benq, both 22-inch and 1080p 60hz monitors for months without finding a perfect product that would satisfy my needs. Ultimately I had decided to wait until one of them would stop working before thinking about purchasing a new set of 2. However, I was still intrigued by the prime day that was coming up just a month away.My needs were as follows:- screen real estate: have been working with two screens for many years and was not intending to go back to one screen. Had many people recommending ultrawide 21:9, 3440x1440p monitors for the versatility but the comfort of two separate screens is unbeatable in my opinion. Fast and easy placement of windows and the ability to snap them around with ease is something I can't trade even for a larger, more immersive monitor - I don't mind the "line" in the middle that usually people complain about.- good quality panels: i wanted something I can stare at for hours on end and having had issues with my old monitors I knew the new monitors had to be comfortable, such as IPS or VA, no TN.- 1440p resolution: the actual recommendation I followed was to consider a more resoluted display, easier on the eyes and with better defined text.- 100+hz refresh rate. Had the chance to try out a 85hz overclocked monitor and I could notice the difference immediately; it somehow made it more forgiving on my eyes and decided it to make it a staple feature. What i need the monitors for:- work: fullscreen apps with lots of charts and moving numbers as well as excel, so a lot of data has to fit into a window/screen and potentially having the ability to strech across the two monitors if required.- study: my girlfriend is about to undertake her studies and wanted her to have multiple pdfs, webpages and document open at the same time for quick reference and usage.- some gaming on evenings with friends, mainly fast fps/rts games. Why I picked the 27inch LC27JG5 monitors and my experience so far:- 27inch and 1440p with good panel: switching from 22 to 27 is night and day, and the 1440p resolution makes it even more defined (higher ppi) than my old monitors. The contrast of the monitors in incredible with the darkest blacks I have ever seen. The eye saver mode was supposedly good and turned out to be great on these long days at the PC.- 144hz: an incredible feature for the price and to be honest I could see the difference right away. Everything is so smooth and so responsive. Very easy on the eyes (so if you have dry/sensitive eyes from screens then this model is for you). Gaming is superb on this (provided that you have some kind of a powerful pc) and the refresh rate really helps. No gsync or freesync available if that's what you're after. My nvidia GTX1060 handles any games with high fps and no problems.- curved monitor: was not on my list of requirements but decided to give it a go because frankly it was just on top of an already good spec list for my needs.- price price price: £286 (price at the time of this review) is already a good deal for this monitor but with the prime day sales coming up i decided to see if it would have gone lower and it did. A steal for £199.Preference of this monitor over other ones:- compared to ultrawides: if you want an immersive gaming experience then the ultrawide is for you. Technology is not quite there yet for the 144hz ultrawide monitors (or are very, very expensive) but anything above 60hz is an improvement. For ANY OTHER USAGE that I could think of, ultrawide was useless for me besides bragging rights (in my opinion).- compared to single monitor, same size and resolution: if you do any kind of multitasking work or just want to see two full size windows side by side then dual monitors like my setup is the way to go. Your productivity will increase (if not double) and it will be worth it. One monitor is easy on the PC but with a Nvidia GTX1060 I am able to run any app and game I want with ease with high FPS (reducing the details on newer games);- compared to smaller monitors, any resolution and amount: larger screens are better. If you are thinking you might need them, you'll find them useful. This model in particular is great.- curved vs non-curved: didn't really notice the difference but once back to a flat monitor I could feel it. It's a more immersive experience. Recommend the curve.PRO/CONS:Pros:+nice colours (VA panel), 1440p, 144hz monitor+ability to change settings (a lot) to fit your needs+VERY easy on the eyes.+PRICE, worth the money+smart appearance, thin bezels for a multi monitor setup.Con:-many complain of light bleeding and there is a limited amount-might require some color tuning to fit your needsNeutral:~curved~can't rotate the monitor, stand is fixed: use a wall/arm mount or similar.~not many expert reviews~make sure you have the physical space to fit them in your desk, you never knowCONCLUSIONGreat monitor. Recommended. Great price and service, prompt delivery as per usual and peace of mind of returning them if some funny things or dead pixels appear. 144hz is really an improvement, as the size and resolution: less pixels would make the screen fuzzy and hard to use in my opinion. Beware that if you will use the stand you will not be able to tilt the screens, you'll have to move yourself. The little extra that you pay is well spent on a monitor you won't get tired to look at and with good features.

Fantastic Monitor.
Amazon, please read the note at the bottom of this review.I was lucky to get a fresh one straight out of the box. I have only had it a day now, and have to say this is one of the best monitors I have used. Using it with an Gefore RT2060 8gb video card, and using it on display port, the quality of the picture is fantastic, and the 144hz refresh rate makes gaming look fab. Even on non-gaming things, it looks impressive, and even just quickly jumping over to my flat monitor to write this review, the eyestrain is noticable when not using a curved screen. Considering I have astigmatism in both eyes, the curved display is awesome.I read a lot of the reviews on this, so was really worried when I ordered it, but when I opened the box, it had a dent in it, then I panicked. I rolled over the box and found it was fresh as, and the tape was factory tape, as no matter how awesome you are, getting a box repacked perfectly is not easy. I opened it, and everything was good.Downsides so far.1: On Outer Worlds, I have noticed a bit of pixilation in the clouds, I am sure that it is a setting thing, but it is noticable. I will check this.2: The little button to turn on the monitor is annoying as has been mentioned. The little joystick behind it is going to take some getting used to, but the menu is awesome.3: It isn't light. Only reason I mention this, is that I have had major spinal surgery, and it wore me out setting it up. So fellow back surgery buyers, get someone to do the lifting for you.4: Once you go curved, you don't want to go back.5: Almost forgot. When you get this monitor, and you turn your rig on, you may lose sound as it has a speaker in there, which I don't recall reading about. Make sure before you play anything, that you are switched to your main source. I think there should be a way to disable it.Pros.1: The clarity is nuts! N.V.T.S nuts. I so can't wait to play Mechwarrior 5 and Elder Scrolls Online with this baby.2: The settings are fantastic, and you really do need to drop the brightness down. I have it around 75 percent, and it is definitely a lot better at that level.3: It does a really nice flat colour option, where it is like reading paper and not a monitor. I think that will be handy for when I am writing or reviewing stuff.4: Display port is fantastic. I didn't have to worry about HDMI as my graphics card has 3 display ports on it, so there was no option for me. The clarity as I have mentioned is just awesome.5: The curved screen does really help.Fantastic monitor in many ways. Thanks Samsung for keeping up your quality products. I know you have hit and misses, but this is true with all companies, but unlike a lot of your competition, you are consistently good.________________________________________________________________________________________________________Amazon. Please fix your packing paper, it literally smells like used nappies. I smelt it on my arms for about an hour afterwards.
