The seeds germinated and grew great.
I live in the desert of Phoenix, AZ. This is one of the few crops that grow in the desert. I planted these last summer and they grew amazing. This year they re-seeded all on their own, and once gin grew great. The quality of the seed was superb.I like this variety as it has a pretty purple vine. The leaves can be eaten. The taste is mild, but they are a bit slimy like okra.Overall, I'm very happy and would buy these again, if needed.

Slow but worth it.
The sprouts were slower than the description suggested, but over half the seeds did become successful plants. The leaves are so much thicker, meatier and sturdier than regular spinach. They are absolutely thriving under my LED grow light in January and even the terrible February we have been having where the power kept going off. First time I have tried this plant and so far I am thrilled. The flavor is quite like spinach but without the dry squeaky feel.

>90% germinated
It's my first planting this so I wasn't prepared to wait that long. All the seeds have to be soaked in the water for >3 weeks and then they start to have roots coming out. But overall only 50% germinated.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I waited longer and dumped those not germinated seeds to the ground and covered them. Surprisingly more came out! I think it's just slow in germinating. To be fair, I adjusted the rating to 5 stars.

germinated ok
Sounds like this is a hard species to germinate, based on some reading. I started extra, and eventually got enough seedlings for my needs. It took a couple weeks beyond what you would expect for other vegetables. But rest assured, these are viable seed, they just take extra babying and patience.

The grow strong and taste good!
I got these last year and put the seed in water for a day then transferred to soil. Kept the soil moist for a while till they sprouted then transferred to my garden bed. They were beautiful to look at and tasted great. I brought them inside before frost and they were ok but died eventually (maybe overwatering or underwater I don't remember). But I got me new seeds and I love them. Definitely they don't like dry soil and I suggest putting them next to a support.
