If you want a dial test indicator that is accurate down to .0005” and utilizes a NOGA style holder at an incredible value, then you’ve found just the ticket. Indicator repeatability is excellent, and the articulation of the holder is smooth and holds firmly. Would definitely recommend this to both hobbyists and professionals alike

I knew pretty much exactly what I would get with this kit. A respectable indicator and a garbage stand/arm. Indicator isn’t silky smooth, but it works and reads accurately against my DRO over a full rotation. The stand/arms is of course junk. Primary issue is simply that the rod arms (which provide pressure to lock) are very poorly machined. Sharp edges, burrs, generally wrong geometry which also led to spherical ball joints being gouged up. If you are so inclined and have the tools, you can disassemble everything, polish up the ball joints, polish and smooth the retaining rings, cut appropriately radiused reliefs in the push rods and appropriate wedge angles, wax it all up and reassemble. Now my arms are silky smooth and lock solid. A couple hours of time to get this more like a $150 indicator set.

Magnetic base on/off allows for mounting in difficult positions and measures accurately. The locking knob works well. A must have tool for a metal lathe setup.

This Test Indicator is a great buy. I've spent a lot more, hundreds for brand name indicators and this one performed just as well as those. The magnetic strength wasn't as strong as I expected. But after I thought about it is a bit small. I found a polished 3" round of steel that works perfect. I recommend anyone who needs a Test Indicator with Mag Base to pickup on this great deal. First of all I think the picture makes the dial part look bigger than it is. I could live with that but the dovetail holder won't go on the instrument. I could force it I suppose, but I don't want to hassle getting this in the base arm every time I change my set up. Plus the magnetic base is weak. If you bumped it there would be movement. My other bases are almost impossible to move when on and certainly aren't going anywhere if lightly bumped. Overall, this tool might be OK for checking a table saw blade but it's not for any machine shop. Not my modest shop anyway.
