We have put this in the yard to repel cats from pooping. This has worked great for that! They now go around instead of through the yard.

Even with a few cloudy afternoons, the devices continued to function as they were designed to, so I do not have any reason to be concerned about the possibility that the partial shadow in my yard may restrict their ability to charge. I was relieved since I didn't want to add more responsibilities to my daily routine; therefore, that was a stress reliever.
