Depending on the type of practice, how much you sweat, and personal preference, they recommend washing your mat every 1-3 uses. If you choose to not wash your mat, still hang it after practice to dry out. Why are Yoga Design Lab products eco-friendly? Their Yoga Mats are made of a biodegradable, recyclable 100% natural tree rubber base and microfiber top. They are free from latex, silicone, toxic glue, and phthalates. Why are you slipping? At the beginning of practice, if your hands and feet are dry, they do recommend lightly spraying the mat with a little water or just wetting your hands/feet. This will help engage their special wet-grip feature before your body heats up. During a super sweaty practice, the mat could reach its absorbency capacity. If you see any puddling, just use a small hand towel to remove the excess and grip should return. Why is my towel slipping on my mat? Their towels are 100% microfiber and work best atop common sticky mats, rubber mats, and textured mats. If your Yoga Design Lab mat has a mild odor, just place it outside or in a well ventilated space to air out. You can also give it a quick wash with light detergent and water. About Yoga Design Lab Great Design + Technical Innovation + Impeccable Quality + Sustainability The idea for Yoga Design Lab started while company founder, Chad, was on vacation in Bali. Chad was seated in the back of a packed class at the well-known mecca for yoga, Yoga Barn. Looking around, all he saw was a sea of unoriginal, massed produced, solid colored yoga mats.
