This closer is high-quality and very easy to install. I have a 1 3/4 , 36 inch wood slab firedoor from my garage. The door is heavy, however the medium/heavy is very very strong. I should have ordered the medium duty. It's ok, this one is fine... a little too strong, but fine

Solid metal product (sans the small plastic cap).I recommed using the Bilt manual from the QR code on the box, it's far easier to understand and follow than the included paper manual.Our application is an interior door, the semi hollow wood type, 90 degree opening. The opening force required is alot, even with the spring lowered all the way. I installed the door closer using the standard application, 7 inches away from hinge. The door closes perfectly, no more slamming.I may try moving the door closer to 8 inches from the hinge to reduce the force required.

arrived with a broken piece. It is the cap that covers the mechanism. Unable to contact Amazon or Lawrence to get a replacement part. HORRIBLE customer service. Hired general contractor to instal. Holes drilled in door and item installed. The broken cap is the LAST piece to install, we did not see defect until everything else on. Very unhappy.

It was a little pricey, but fit perfectly which made the replacement very easy.

Installed on a heavy duty steel exterior security door. Worked well since 2018 and was still working great when we sold the house on 2023. Buying another for my current home.
