Novogratz Vintage Tufted Upholstery Design, Rectangular Ottoman - Blue Velvet

Don’t buy this.I’ll add a picture of this later today, the material used on the one of the 5 sides of the ottoman is different. In the manufacturing they probably got out of the material and used something different to finish the ottoman. The color is different and it feels it’s a different material. I regret.

This is an okay piece of furniture. Nothing great, and really nothing I'd refer to as "furniture store" furniture.Unfortunately, once unboxed, it simply looked DATED more so than VINTAGE. Design and style-wise that makes a difference.First off, the packaging for shipping was excellent. The packing box was thick cardboard and the ottoman arrived without a scuff or dent. A really nice touch was that the ottoman was inside a thin fabric sleeve which protected it during travel, and also worked well for unboxing, when it had to basically be on the floor.Descriptively, the build is simply a wood framed ottoman with thin fabric and padding. It's not at all comfortable as a seat, and barely passes muster as a foot rest.Also, we found it to be excessively LOW for an ottoman. The height is only 13.5" - 14" from the floor to the top of the piece. That's really low, especially in comparison to other ottomans we own. The low height makes it very hard to get up from, should you choose to use it as a bench seat option.On the opposite side of the size issue is that the ottoman is very deep and that's a nice feature. It definitely feels more like a covered bench seat than an ottoman - due to it's length and depth.All in all, though, this ottoman takes up a nice bit of floor space and I think it would have been better served if it had some storage. Basically, it's a fabric/pad covered box. We did appreciate the small, plastic, nub feet that protect the floor beneath it.A definite note for those with pets - this fabric is a dust and pet hair magnet.Sorry, but we can't recommend this one. It's okay, so three stars from us.

The Novogratz Vintage Tufted Upholstery Design, Rectangular Ottoman - Blue Velvet just arrived yesterday. I immediately took it out of the box and was surprised at the size of this ottoman – large. The dimensions are 48” long, 24” wide, and 14" high. I say surprised because many the reviewers on Amazon commented that the ottoman was small and I took the reviewers at their word. This review corrects that misinformation. This is an extremely large ottoman.The ottoman comes fully assembled, is well-made and attractive. It has a soft blue velvet upholstery with tailored tufting. It is comfortable to sit on and might be used in front of a large couch. This ottoman is much too big to put in front of an individual chair. If readers of this review are looking for a very large and attractive ottoman, this might be suitable. Recommended with noted reservations.

This is a really beautiful, quality, ottoman. I was somewhat worried concerning the color and quality of the fabric, but was pleasantly surprised. The fabric has a very soft velvet feel and the blue is not at all garish or bright- very neutral and can easily blend in with aspects of the room. The tufting is plush and comfortable (my kids enjoy climbing on it) while also firm enough to place a tray with drinks. The ottoman arrived in a well packaged and very large box. This is a substantial piece of furniture and is well made, while also being stylish, classic, and comfy.

I was sent the rectangular version of this Ottoman. I'd say it's pretty well done from a manufacturing point of view. It's a simple wood frame padded with little plastic nubs on the bottom to protect the floor. The padding is firm; you can put a saucer or even a mug on the surface without worrying it will spontaneously tip over if someone sits nearby. It's a good height, and I can extend my legs from my couch and lean back and veg out watching a movie comfortably.So, a lot of good.On the other hand, I just don't like the fabric. If you like blue velvet (not the movie) then you might judge this at least a 4 star product, but it just is not a premium material, and I worry about cleaning it in a way that I wouldn't with leather. I'll probably end up putting a throw over it most of the time to hide the fabric.

This ottoman turned out to be an excellent addition to my living room. The material is super soft and matches the color scheme in my living room. It isn't at all heavy so its easy to move around. I've used it as a table and as a place to sit.
