TP-LINK TL-PA4010KIT AV600 Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit, up to 500Mbps(Renewed)

I bought this figuring it wasn't going to work, but low and behold it works fantastic! Pleasantly surprised!My hunting blind is 500 feet through the woods from the house and this little device has no problem shooting internet all the way out there. I have the sender and receiver on the same circuit per the instructions, and I got the same speed tested at the house and at the blind. It was super simple to hook up and pair, it is truly plug and play. Winner!

These PoE adapters work out of the box: You just need to plug in them and it's done. The network delay is great with a 9ms ping. But the bandwidth is very limited. The speed test I run shows the speed it's around 2.5MB/s whereas I could get a 50MB/s speed with direct connect. Anyway, I am using it for gaming so I don't really care about the bandwidth.Disclaimer: I plug both adapters on power outlets. It's said that using them directly on wall sockets would improve the bandwidth but I didn't test this.

...but it also seems to shed speed in doing so.I use this Ethernet over power line setup to share a 300 Mbit Internet connection with a friend in another part of an apartment building. It's an older building where the electrical is shared throughout the building. While we are on the same circuit breaker panel, we are on different breakers, so I had concerns about the feasibility of being able to adequately share the connection. The good news is that it works and she's able to stream video to her hearts delight. However, when I tried sharing my friend's internet connection to my place and doing online gaming through services like Amazon's Luna, the games were largely unplayable due to to SERIOUS lag. When we switched who had the Internet modem though, it turns out we are both happy. Also, using a simple outlet tap that converts a standard two-device outlet into a six-device outlet with no surge protection, has no impact on performance.One gripe I had about the contents of this renewed package is that it came without any Ethernet cables. Not a big deal because I had some spare cables, but it WILL need two Ethernet cables so factor that into the price and or/additional items you will need in order to make this device work for you.Other than that, setup could not be easier. Plug it in to your two locations,hit the sync button on both devices and connect the Ethernet cables from your router/gateway and to your destination device/router on the other end, and you are good to go. No additional configuration through your phone or web page or anything like that(just imagine it's one long Ethernet cable).

This extender seems to work so much better than any wifi extender I have used. I guess using the power lines is quite an advantage.

Product had prime shipping but not 2 day shipping (not the seller's fault, that's on ME for not checking before.) Product was priced well, I purchased it on discount for $30. The product did not come in it's original box (as shown in product pictures provided by seller.) The product also was very dirty, the pictures I took do not do it justice for how grimy it was. I cleaned the product off to test it. The product increased my Download speed from 18MB/s on wifi to 60MB/s with the product. I would like to note that the product DID NOT come with all necessary accessories. I was provided a single ethernet cable while the product requires 2 ethernet cables to operate. Overall for the grime and lack of a secondary ethernet cable I knocked 2 stars off. If it came clean and with all required cables it would have easily been a 5 star product.

I went from 741 mbps down straight off the router down to 15 mbps down in the same room, which I could totally live with but if I move to another room to use this thing like it was intended it doesn’t make a connection AT ALL. I’ve tried just about every outlet in the house and as soon as you move it from the same room it doesn’t make a connection. This thing is junk! Buy a better brand, you get what you pay for.

Works really good so far. Purchased this for my garage (starting a man cave) and I was skeptical about this working due to the age of my house (late 1970s). Everything seems to be working so far, I paired this with a 100M 5 port TP Link Switch and it works flawlessly. No more buffering or latency on my console or smart TV. Setup was very simple, you literally hook up a wire and press a button at both points and you are done. I have them placed about 65 feet apart. Purchasing renewed was also a great value for what I received. The item looked brand new.

My smart tv has been inexplicably dropping off wi-fi for a couple of years. This didn't concern me much at my former place but everything is wireless where I live now. I didn't think I'd be able to use the ethernet workaround that's worked before, but this wifi extender was recommended to me. I'm the worst at figuring out tech gadgets, but a friend who is a techie set this up for me in a matter of minutes. Streaming on my smart tv is now flawless again.

The device works great. It provides a connection to an iMac desktop at the far end of the house where the wifi signal is marginal. The product came used which I didn't notice when ordering it and I waited a while for delivery because of Covid-19. But all good.
