Pleasantly surprised
I was pleasantly surprised by this knife. I wasn't expecting much for quality, workmanship or even suitability for task. Obviously expectations were rather low.Overall the knife is light in weight. Balance is just behind the finger cutout making the weight handle heavy and the blade nimble as would be expected of a defensive knife. This is excellent.Handle is thin to reduce overall weight and printing if concealed. Blade length is good and the cutting edge took only a short time on a strop to make it razor sharp to my personal standards. It arrived with a good working factory edge though I prefer mine sharper. Nicely shaped and contoured for normal or reverse grip. Ice pick or hammer grip style is not as comfortable but still usable.I'm not personally fond of serrations but these are well ground and work well enough for most. Blade is decent stainless steel and the black coating is smooth. The back edge is ground as a false edge but leaves a good amount of spine present. I would have preferred it to be thinner to allow sharpening but that's just a personal preference. I may grind it down to a sharp edge later but that would be a lot of hand work without power tools. Spine itself is 90 degrees and can spark a fire steel without filing away the coating.Sheath is good and provides good retention without rattle. The belt clip is worthless, unscrew it and throw it away. I replaced mine with a C-clip though a G-clip or TechLock work also depending on how you wish to carry it.Value vs purpose is very good. Intended use is off hand hip IWB carry as a backup for firearm on strong side. This knife suits that purpose very well. The steel is decent enough that breakage isn't expected during normal use. It's light weight enough to be carried for hours comfortably. Handle is thin so it doesn't print through clothing and adds to the reduced weight. If serrations are too much of an issue or if a thicker handle is desired the Officer model is similar in design but heavier and comes with a glass breaker in the pommel. I have both and both are good economical blades. This model being reviewed is my choice for EDC with CCW firearm.

WOW. JUST WOW.
The media could not be loaded. Smith & Wesson does it again. I was skeptical of a $20 fixed blade knife at first, but WOW. I’ve been carrying the M&P Shield 2.0 Folding Tanto for a few years, and bought this fixed blade for work/camping in backcountry. If someone handed me this knife and asked me how much it cost, I would have said $60+. The handle and blade are high quality and fit into the sheath snug. The rubberized grip feels great and the knife is the perfect size for my large hands (XXL gloves). The blade came VERY sharp, I was able to shave some arm hair off as a test. Love the drop-point blade and serration. The only downside is the belt clip on the sheath, I plan to modify it to be mounted horizontally on my belt. Otherwise, this is a crazy low price for an extremely quality knife that will blow away all expectations.

Incredible knife, Incredible price.
I bought this for a duty belt set up. A knife is very important in a duty belt set up, used as both a weapon, but mainly a tool. This knife is the best bang for its buck. I run drills with guys that spend 300+ on their super super cool custom one of a kind knives and in all fields (including looks....since we are all so tacticool today) this thing exceeds all expectations.Featuring a rubberized/stippled kydex handle, this feels very nice in the hand. One thing I can’t stand about most “Tactically knives” is that a lot of companies put way too much (in my opinion) “meat” on the handle, making the knife bulky and awkward. This knife is impressively low profile and features saw like teeth towards the bottom of the blade for additional uses. The sheath it comes with has a metal clip on the back for vertical mounting applications on a belt or pocket. I was able to utilize the holes predrilled in the sheath in conjunction with some handy dandy shock cord to mount it horizontally. Thanks to the excellent design from the guys at S&W, this thing doesn’t move an inch on my belt. All in all, this blade gets two big thumbs up for me. I will definitely be back to purchase more Smith&Wesson blades in the future.

Great little knife
Love, love this little knife. This is my 2nd one. The reason is my second one is the only problem I have with it. I lost my first one because the sheath has a belt clip. Was out backpacking and it worked its way off my belt and into the lake. I use paracord to keep it permanently attached to my belt. Otherwise, this is perfect for camping/back.

Love S&W Products
This is a high quality made knife! The rubberized grip is not too grippy but still feels grippy enough and the curve detail is appealing, the blade size is nice and very sharp! Was able to shave a few arm hairs off lol. It feels great in the hand. The knife snaps/clicks in and out of the sheath extremely nice, the clicks are very satisfying 😆. I added a paracord adjustable slide wrist/hand strap for added safety.

Make it in s35vn
This is a great knife profile, but I would like a higher quality steel. I am guessing this is 420c, some higher carbon content bottom end steel. It is extremely sharp, but I suspect very brittle as the knife hand comes wrapped in a warning that specifically says not to impact it against hard objects

Great Knife, Terrible Belt Clip
I own several S&W knives and have always found them useful and a good value. This knife is no exception. Solid, well made and somewhat sharp out of the box. Price was more than reasonable. I also liked the sheaf...mostly. It holds the knife well but the belt clips is so poor that the sheaf comes with the knife when you draw it. Either the clip is too weak or the sheath is too firm in it's grip. Too me it's a no go. I may stick in my tackle box but doubt I would use it day to day. S&W really needs to upgrade the belt clip.

Smith & Wesson
Exactly what I was looking for in a fixed blade by Smith and Wesson. My big issue is the holster. When pulling the knife out, the clip does not hold onto the belt at all. Still rating it 5 stars.
