Chill Hawaiian Organic All Natural Papaver Somniferum Poppy Seeds (1)

I don’t know if these seeds were spoiled or something else but they tasted terrible. If you’ve ever chewed on a B complex multi vitamin that’s kind of what these tasted like…terrible. I didn’t get sick from them, thank god. I’m mixing them with some good tasting seeds to cover up the bad flavor. If they don’t make me sick I’m not going to throw them away, that would be a waste. If you’re looking for poppy seeds to make montashn (hamantash) or some such thing then I would recommend looking elsewhere, stay away from these seeds. In the very least even if the seeds from this seller are good some of the time (I ordered from Captain Nautica) they are inconsistent and unreliable in flavor. Are these seeds good for tea?…eh. I would say at least the seeds I got were pretty good, above average, but not as good as seeds that were available from some sellers a couple years ago. And with these seeds being $30…A POUND…there are better options price wise. I don’t care if these seeds are hand delivered by God on a chariot made of gold and ivory being pulled by angels, they’re not worth $30….A POUND… ($12 maybe but not 30). I don’t make tea I just eat the seeds raw. There’s nothing wrong with making poppy tea and people shouldn’t be afraid to talk about it, that’s what these reviews are for, so we can be informed consumers and find what we’re looking for. Some reviewers have been complaining about other reviewers being “open” and “honest” about buying seeds for tea and blaming them for seed prices skyrocketing in the past year and a half. People have been posting those “honest” reviews for several years now and prices never went up before. If the sellers don’t lower prices they’re going to lose customers. Gouging customers will drive them away. I’ve already cut back heavily on the amount of seeds i’m buying and I use them sparingly now. If prices stay too high for much longer I’m going to stop buying seeds all together. That’s bad for business. 2 stars instead of 1 star because I got a decent buzz from three tablespoons of seeds, eaten raw, that’s a minor redeeming value for these seeds, but I will not be buying from this seller again, it’s too expensive. And did I mention they tasted yerrible…I mean terrible.

These seeds are of great quality for all your culinary needs whatever they may be. They have an excellent aroma and havent been washed so they retain all there flavor great for baking.

These are awesome seeds. They are fresh smell earthy and nutty the wash is real dark brown. These seeds aren’t washed they are fresh and great for any use. The Captain has awesome customer service and delivery was prompt. Thank you Captain for an awesome product. You Rock
