Quality shifter
If you know what this is, and you need one, this is a good one. You can get better, but it will cost you double, at least. This one is mostly metal, feels solid, and works very well. Hard to go wrong with this one.

Friction Shifting is More Fun
I converted my adventure/gravel bike over to 2x. Instead of searching for a road shifter to do the job, I decided to embrace old school aesthetic and go with friction. This little shifter is great. It ratchets down and smoothly shifts back up. No more chain grinding, just smooth shifting. The mount is nicer than other budget friction shifters too. I like how it shifts and I like how it looks. The rubber is a bit clunky and hard, but it's my front derailleur and I only shift out of my top ring for hills.

great friction shifter
i usually use the cheap plastic friction shifters on most my bikes, this was for my long distance/bike packing set up. i flipped it upside down and used it for a 10 speed rear derailleur and it works great, super solid too!

Great Shifter To short of a cable
I have switched both our Trikes to use this friction shifter to shift the crankset, much easier to control, solves a lot of problems with shifting wish I would have switched when we were riding bikes. The included cable is to short so I had to use 1 that I had. Not sure if even on a bike if the cable would be longer. at least 3 foot shorter than standard cable. Get the shifter but have a spare cable on hand.

I hate this thing. It's all wrong.
I hate this thing. It's awful. Two big problems. 1) The C-clamp is solid cast metal. Spreading it open enough to go on the handlebars required a hammer and chisel. Closing it again required huge pliers and superman muscle strength. This thing is designed to slip on the end of a brand-new bike, and not for repairing an old bike. If you're making repairs, pick something else. 2) The shifter axis is offset wildly from the handlebar center, making it difficult to get thumb leverage on the thing. I can shift by taking my hand OFF the handlebars, planting my palm on the shifter, and twisting. My thumb alone is not strong enough. The old rusty shifter did not have this problem. I've included two photos: the new left shifter on the left, and the old right shifter on the right. Notice where the axis is: on the left, its way up-over; on the right, it's where the thumb has actual leverage. Fiddling with the placement doesn't help; its just too off-center.

Keep it simple!
Great quality and works really well and holds it position. This has micro clicks when rotating it into higher gear and no clicks when going down. Often I find that I have to push it into a higher click to get the chain to shift then I pull it back a tiny bit to stop derailleur rub. Pretty typical with thumb shifters but at least I can shift fast then easily move it to stop the rubbing while I did not have any on-the-fly fine adjustment with the original quick shifter equipped for my bike. This looks really nice and professional compared to the ugly plastic one I first bought. Very happy with this.

Solid construction, smooth operation
Bought this because I couldn't find an index shifter that actually worked. This one works perfectly on my front derailleur

Nice Shifter
Very nice well made shifter for the front chain rings where indexing is of negligible value. Much easier for someone with weaker hands to use!
