I hope they help, but it's hard to tell until the cord stops working for wear. So far it's only been months so I'll report back.

I have used everything to fix my apple charger wire when it gets splits. It's inevitable and I've managed to not have to replace them for a couple years at a time as they are expensive. Then I watched a tutorial on IFIXIT and saw what looked like an old time wall phone curly cord. Only it was much smaller. Fits the cord like a glove. I thought, what a novel idea and I don't have to use all the other stuff which worked but was unsightly. I put good quality electrical tape over the split and started putting this little miracle on my cord from the bottom to top. It's the ANSWER to this problem. Note: my wiring was not frayed but I wanted to tape the split in the covering together first. In the tutorial they used shrink wrap first This takes a little while to put on but it's well worth the time and it looks better than all the other DIY methods I've tried. I heard choirs and angels singing, it's that good. Granted it's only been days I've had it on but I can tell from the design, it's going to protect the cord. This is what the MAC designers should be using but then you wouldn't have to replace it at almost $100 a pop.

I bought this for my MacBook air's power cord. It's way too short. It looks like it will be durable and a good product, but wish it was at least another 2 feet longer. Ordered another one to try to finish my cord.

This cord protector is awesome, although it wasn't long enough for my MacBook pro cord. I would've given this product 4 stars for that reason, but I've added an extra star since the seller resolved the issue quickly and easily. I ordered this 5 months ago when I realized I would need to replace my power cord soon. Well, the cord lasted longer than I thought and finally died last week. I had a new one ready and wound the protecter around the cord. It only covered about 2/3 of it. I went back and looked at the listing and saw there was a warranty so I contacted the seller. They got back to me a couple hours later and told me they would send out a replacement. I just received the new one today and I have a fully protected cord now. Yay! I'm so impressed that they helped me out even though I contacted them 5 MONTHS after I ordered this. They really didn't have to. Anyway, long story short - 5 stars.

This looks like it will do exactly what I wanted: prevent my new charging cable from splitting and fraying like my old one.The protector I got was not quite long enough to cover the entire cable (85W Magsafe 2 from Apple) -- it was able to cover about 2/3s of it. Which was fine for my needs, as the part closest to the computer is the part I tend to have trouble with.Spiraling this whole 5 foot length of twisty cord was a pain, but I found I could cut it with scissors into manageable pieces about 6-12" long and it was much easier to install. Since I made sure the cut ends match up closely, I can't even tell where I had cut it.The whole things looks very subtle; from a glance you couldn't tell that it was anything but a regular grey cord.

It was not difficult to install, but was a little time consuming until I got it down.The material was enough to cover two of my Mac charging cords, both of which started developing a split in the outer covering. This material gives it an extra layer of protection, preventing it from bending too far and from areas where the cord may rub against something repeatedly, like the edge of my desk.Some say it offers protection from pets, but my dog would just think it was a nice crunchy layer which would likely only add 10 extra seconds to her enjoyment of the cord. :)It is difficult to tell from just a couple days of use, but it looks like it will help and it feels much less fragile whenever I handle the charging cable. I have a feeling that the cord will be a dust and dirt collector, and that this will be the main reason to replace it after so long. The way it wraps around the cable creates many edges to collect dust, lint and dirt.I added some tape to the frayed part of my cord first, then went over the tape with this material. If you are looking for it, you can see that the part with the tape sticks out slightly more than the other portion of the cable, but I feel a little better knowing that part has some extra protection.

I installed this product on a new Mac MagSafe power adapter cable. (I ruined my old cable while trying to manipulate a "heat shrink" type cable protection product not sold on Amazon.) This product is easy to install, looks good, and, so far, looks like it will protect my cable. I first installed enough length to cover the area of cable that tends to get pinch damage by in my own particular situation. That first layer ended where the MagSafe rubber cable reinforcement begins (such that the diameter of the protected cable is then equal to the short rubber reinforced portion). Then I added a shorter section of protection to cover the rubber reinforced section with about an equal length beyond (thus covering the first layer of the product for that half). This second layer was intended to stop the cable from bending at the normal "wear and tear" point (where the cable meets the rubber reinforced area).

I initially purchased this to cover a frayed spot on my MacBook charging cable. Since the MacBook chargers are so expensive I wanted to extend the life of mine as long as possible. I also know from owning previous chargers that the cord to power source attachment is weak - the plastic cable connection protector is hugely helpful.This was perfect for covering/protecting the fray. I also used it as a preventative measure to strengthen the cord/head connection (as shown in main picture) and it has been great for that so far as well!My boyfriend has a Dell laptop and his charger recently started fraying - I gave him some of the cord wrap to use and he thinks its great as well!

Love the coiling cable protector but the piece of plastic that sticks to the charger comes off easily. One half somehow came loose and is now nowhere to be found.
