Excellent Mixer
Hi,I was looking for a good mixer grinder, I found this product and ordered it from Great Elect. This product is excellent and is more than efficient for house hold needs. We use it for all kind of indian chutneys, for idli, Dosa batters and lot of other stuff. It works like a charm.

PLEASE DONT BUY!!
Please dont buy this. I had ordered this product once before but received a stained one so returned. Then I thought it might be by mistake so reordered but received like used one again. Being tired from returning circus, I retained it and rarely used it.However, in 45 days, it tripped off in just 10 seconds of grinding. I re-tried by resetting knob and it worked but would not run more than 10 seconds in a go, and on one occasion, there was a spark inside near motor. That was its last breath. Not working since then. The product is clearly not made for US Voltage regulations. There is just a 110V sticker on bottom hiding 220V.P.S.: I was grinding 50-70 grams of Urad Dal. Couldn't wash and grind less than that!

Cheap Imitation of Sumeet
Okay, now that I have declared it, Here are the pluses first, there aren't many:1. The motor housing is decent, not Kitchenaid quality but not bad either. Not sure why they wanted all those graphics on it.2. The motor did not start smoking as someone else experienced.3. It does a decent job of making chutney pastes, my primary reason for getting this. Now to the Negatives... Get a pillow, you will need to read this leisurely:1. The machine reeks cheapness. For something made in Mumbai, I would expect some semblance of a class. Alas, the lovely city has lost its charm. The box itself is a cheap imitation of Sumeet, the mother of all indian mixers, its thin, cheap corrugated box with the print done by your out of job neighborhood lad whose mom begged you to give him your business.2. I opened the jars hoping to see something better. Well, its a neighboorhood business in Goregaon apparently. The Stainless steel quality reminds me of those cheap badly finished steel bowls that folks used to give out during fairs and large functions, aka Dollar store quality. The jar sizes are small.3. The blades are made by the same steel folks. No polished steel. When I tried to remove the blade, the whole assembly came apart. I had to get a plier to loosen the blade from the shaft. In the process i did not check how many fiber washers were inside versus on the outside. Needless to say, I put more inside than outside and the blade was not rotating smoothly. It started smoking when I put it on the mixie. I had to re-do the whole thing.4. The rubber sealer between the lid and the bowl is the kicker. Recollect smell of Hawaii chappals. Now think of really cheap Hawaii chappals. Yes, same material, same smell. This is supposed to be food grade PVC or similar, not made by out of work shoe workers.5. The quality of the Lid is not exactly rocking either. Again, a neighboorhood effort for sure. You can see that your beach toys that you get for you kids have a better plastic.6. The icing on the cake is that the sticker on the rotating switch that indicates which speed you are at was put wrongly.7. The motor is a re-adjustment of the 220-240V 750W stepped down for use on 110V. So I am not expecting 750W as someone mentioned earlier. I concur with that person that the wattage will probably be way less. There are no safety features other than the trip switch. If you put the jar without the lid and turn things on, well, it works like a 20$ Oster/Hamilton Beach/B&D.8. The electrical cord is of suspect quality. Something that you get at that illegal electrical shop under a tree in a remote village (Honestly, I have lived in such places...)For $100 I cannot complain (except to Squaretrade if it goes belly up) too much but if you are expecting something as an investment, go away. My experience with Sumeet is not exactly rocking, but my last one lasted 9 years. The jar lid could have been designed better, but at least there were aftermarket parts that worked great. The mixie was reliable. For a company that claims ISO 9002 Certification, I wish someone came up with a quality standard, not a manufacturing process standard.

Good Mixer, does the job well
This is identical to mixers we use in India so does all the heavy grinding that blenders cannot. Happy with purchase.

CRAPPY! no.. no... CRAPPIEST Grinder ever
I am really surprised this thing got good reviews. The blades of both of my Jars are stuck after one time use. They don't move no matter what I do... Reason the grinding particles are getting stuck in the thing that spins the blade. Once they dry up there is no where to move.Lost $100 bucks on this thing. It trips most of the time saying overload.. I am this close to throwing it out. Only thing stopping me are the $ 100 I spent.I am able to use only 1 jar that too with lot of pouring hot water , trying to check on the blades if they can move before I start grinding... The blades don't move smoothly after 30 min of this exercise. Now I put it on the mixie turn it on with water only before the blades become free... The worst thing is no matter how much you clean before and after the blades always become hard to move.My review in one sentence.... CRAPPIEST Mixer grinder ever
