Inspirational
I originally bought this book back in the 70's and loved it then. I've read it many times and carried on to buy the rest of the series, but this first book has always been my favourite. Nearly 50 years after first reading it, I still in my daily life think' what would Don Juan have done?' I've had to repurchase it because I lent it out to someone and never got it back

Good bit of reading !!
Good bit of reading even if author has been called a fraud, Its an entertaining book which is well written. Your maybe best not trying to get too old a copy like I did as the pages are quite yellow and the text is small so its hard to read for a pocket book.

Every anthropologist's dream...
A modern day tale of sorcery, magic, spiritualism and horror.Picture the scene; a young anthropology student travels to mexico to learn about medicinal plants. He meets an Indian shamen, who makes him his apprentice. ..what follows is a series of incredible events involving the use of psychotropic plants, and shamenistic ritual. ...there is much to debate on the subject of the author's sincerity, but irrespective of that, this book is a thoroughly engrossing read.
