There Aren't A Lot Of Texts Focusiing Soley On Sanding ?
That being said, Sandor Nagyszalanczy really doesn't disappoint with what amounts to a very in depth study of products and methods used ! I'd like to see him produce a follow up addressing the next generation of products and technology...Seriously ! ;^) Regardless of what may seem redundant to the professional the other 95% of the woodworkers out there WILL benefit from this book, and save themselves a lot of time and money in the process. Just about everyone looks at sanding as a chore. It's just not as glamorous as the rest of the hobby. This book will allow you to streamline that process & separate the wheat from the chaff in the most efficient manner, while allowing you to do so at a much higher quality of craft. That's a Win/Win proposition around here. Folks tend to rush through the tedious. Once you know how to Do It Right there's no longer any need to rush. The book is presented in a a very simple, well structured format moving along at a good clip. Thus turning a tedious chore into an interesting Skill !!!

Advice destroyed a refinish job
I like focused instructional works and this is about as focused as you could get. So you would think that the advice contained in this not so brief book would spot on, at least in the narrow field it covers? Well, you'd be wrong. I recently purchased this book on Amazon and took it for a test run. In the section on removing an old finish (p. 87), the text suggests you use a coarse non-woven plastic abrasive disc and well, that's what I did. The damn thing ripped up a table top I had already invested a couple hundred in before I even knew what happened. And the thing is: I knew better than to try it out. I knew the woven pad would rip through the table. I just figured that Nagyszalanczy was the expert and I was safe following his manual. Live and learn. So, yeah, this book is great if you want to learn how to get the most out of your sandpaper so you don't let one of those 5 cent pieces go to waste. But if you want to avoid ruining your projects that run substantially more, look elsewhere. Anywhere else, really.Oh if I had a time machine so I could go back and never purchase this piece of trash . . .

Sanding? It's in here.
The first book I've owned from this author is titled Workshop Jigs & Fixtures, - it's a must for any serious woodworker. Just building one of the jigs in that book more than pays for it's cost. There's a lot more to this book than I had expected. It saved me from buying unnecessary equipment. Simple things like contoured sanding sticks and knowing what type of dust mask I needed. It covers everything about the subject. There's even quite a bit of humor in the author's writing style.

Captivating work
Excellent would like more like this. Especially if the author writes it.
