Sony Ericsson ST18A-PK Xperia Ray
Handy little phone!I brought this unlocked phone, which is compatible with AT&T/Cingular P.A.Y.G. n/w. I read on forums that if you need this phone for T-Mobile n/w, you would need ST18i version instead. The package arrived in new condition. I had seen reviews of other phones (from Marketplace sellers) which arrived in used or faulty condition). No such issues when purchasing from Amazon.com. The phone works with minimal setup effort - put in a SIM, place the battery and power up. There is a set up guide on home page that walks you through the basic settings.Whats in the box:- Phone- Travel charger (with USB slot).- USB cable- Sony Ericson ear phones with microphone.- ManualsI did not see any warranty card inside.About the phone:It is very light weight without the battery, and with battery and a flip case (Flip Leather Case from eForcity) it still weighs lighter than a wallet! The back cover is plastic and feels fragile while removing it.The screen is narrow, so a cell-phone style T9 keyboard is shown when using the phone in portrait mode. In landscape mode, a QWERTY key board is shown, but then it covers pretty 4/5'ths of the screen leaving just enough space for the text box. It gets very tricky typing in the user name and password when logging into a website. This may take a little while getting used to.The phone comes pre-loaded with many apps, many of them Sony Ericson related (because I did not see them on my HTC). We can remove some of them though. The available memory is limited, so new apps must be moved to the provided 4 GB memory card.Widgets are limited, but are sufficient. I am yet to explore the TimeScape UI feature of the phone.Did not notice any issues with GPS (Samsung phone users complain about unstable GPS connectivity).Nice audio and video output. Screen clarity is great. Some people have complained about number of taps needed before getting to make a call. This can be easily avoided by using widget that shows a list of frequently called contacts on the 'desktop'. Also, the phone app can be set as a short cut on the lower panel (which is available on all desktop screens).Overall, I am satisfied with the phone. It serves my purpose of a compact, capable, android device. I am not going to use this for reading and answering corporate emails, nor am I going to use this for my daily new readings. It works great for the occasional email, chats, maps, camera, music, radio and You tube.

Important Problem with Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray
I purchased a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray cellular phone in August of last year thru Amazon.com.. However, after 3 months of regular use the screen went blank. After talking to an authorized distributor tecnical support dept. (0800 number) and researching the problem all over the internet, I found out that the “Flex” piece needs to be replaced. I was told that this appears to be a bug in all Sony Ericsson Xperia cellular. You guessed well, now I'm stuck with a phone that I can't use and/or sell for a decent price. I'm located in a country in South America and I tried to purchase the part here and it's almost imposible to get it without spending at leat $100.00 (cost & shipping charges) . My suggestion, without the intent to harm anybody: Practice extreme caution if you are planning to buy this type of product. Good luck.

I am so excited about getting a new phone. However you just informed me that it's sold out already after I already placed the order one day before. It's a huge disappointed and I don't want to wait an uncertain period to get my phone.I just want to cancel it and get it from other company.
