530 words in this book will appear on Rosetta Stone. Huge Font - as must for beginners!
It took a long time to complete all 12 Farsi (Persian) units on Rosetta Stone, and this book very much helped me. Initially, the Farsi script on Rosetta Stone (and printed in other sources) was too small for me to read. This book if perfect for someone learning Farsi, as the print is huge and clear. And virtually all of the words are useful to learn. (One difference I observed: R.S. taught different names for the months of the year, so my guess the months in this book are probably based on a religious calendar of some sort). This book was a life-saver while learning to read Farsi, and I learned 530 of the words in this book while taking Rosetta Stone.

Easy to Read and Find Quick Words
This is easy to read with large font, Farsi terms are categorized making it easy to go back and find something. What I found most helpful was the transliterations for each word/phrase. As someone who just needed basic words in Farsi, it was super helpful for pronunciations.

I think it's the best guide to vocabulary
This is a great book to start with!!! I've been looking for a books like this and after buying the 100 Persian Verbs, Amazon showed me this book. This book organizes vocabulary by topic and it really helps to keep things in order. Other books blend vocabulary words together and you'll have to go through the book to find all the words under the topic you want to build a vocabulary list off of.I wish other language books was organized like this. Or at least have a section where the vocabulary was organized like this book is.It would have been great if this book came with a CD of the vocabulary lists so I wouldn't have to type/write out all the words for flash cards.

Most helpful feature for me is the large print in farsi alphabet, so I can practice writing, as well as reading and pronunciation.

Calling beginner students....
I am a beginner farsi student. I speak spanish, english, a little italian, and a littlr french....here is my review: i found the idea of this book to be good, however in most chapters in my opinion, the words selection for each subject are lacking.Let me explain: for the cptrs on travel, fruits, veggies, there is a very limited selection at best. .....like 10 to 15 words to each sub chapter. It seems that if if they condensed some chapters and added more vocabulary list, then that would be much better.HOWEVER, when u reach mid book, page 140 to the end of book, there are chpts on verbs, adjectives, adverbs, question words, pro nouns, prepositions and conjunctions, it is more extensive, and just based on those parts alone, worth the money. As a student studying this language, i have found when i have to make sentences, this book has been useful to create basic elementary questions with these aids. The other good thing is that the words are in bigger print (after 35 u can appreciate this, believe me).Not only that, but the words are broken down in parts to denote pronunciation and inflections, as well as written in farsi and english. This maybe a good travel book, but helpful study aid...at least for me.The small word selection at first half is only reason i gave 3 stars.Hope this helps someone !
