Canon LEGRIA HF R106 High Definition Digital Camcorder - Silver (20 X Optical Zoom, 2.7 Inch Widescreen Colour LCD)

Purchased this camcorder sometime ago. Its small, smart & very easy to point & shoot. Picture quality is very very good, vibrant clear shooting on HD shows every blade of grass.Our youngest Grand daughter has now claimed it as her own, she loves it.The toggle is so easy to use on the menus Simply brilliant all ways round. Lens cover opens on switch on, every button is easily reached. Battery lasts ages, I got on with this little gem almost instantly.Nooooooo Zoom noice when zooming or retracting which I love Plenty of detailed little settings which are great. 2-7inch screen isn't the biggest but this is a fantastic little performer. I have used this many many times, & from the olden days of sit on shoulder cams!!!!!! The picture quality is brilliant, plenty of mic levels to choose from, fade & wipes. 4 or 8 second wipes. Super fast start up, Love it for what this product is & can do.

Not enough information of how to set up this item, wish I never bought it, numerous phone calls to canon for help. You have to be a scientist to work out the program for transferring and editing program.

It is a very simple product, nothing too fancy. However software attached with the camera is way too complicated. Besides battery life is not as long, as I would hoped for. Customer service was fantastic!

The camera is alright and the video quality is okay, though during low light it gets very grainy.What I like most is the immediate editing options you have on the camera.My main complaint is, that the warranty and the manual DVD did not come in English, but in Russian and pretty much every European language respectively.Hmmm....

I don't know whether it's the camera or my computer but there is absolutely no way to upload the files onto my laptop.In theory this is a good camera - playback on the screen shows HD videos with high quality audio. However, the file saving system within the camera has seeingly no logical organisation as when connected to the computer I am presented with a set of files with names that are nothing but a random collection of numbers and letters - some files don't even have anything in them.When transferring, all of the none-sense files import into my video library, completely messing up my own categorisation and meaning I don't even know which of the files are the actual video. What appears to be the file I want is in a movie maker format - not even playable in media player first, and playback is laggy, jolty and sometimes even quite pixelised, even after waiting to see if it loads properly. You are also presented with a set of blank files which aren't compatible with any programs and don't seem to be important - upon deleting these space wasters, the video is useless even in movie maker.The editing software which the camera comes with is basic and not something I want to use (I prefer Adobe Premier), though I could be willing to live with it, the videos become unplayable or editable as soon as you move the file or change their name.The instruction are basic and at furthest tell you how to connect the USB lead between the computer and the camcorder - no explanation of any of the file names or a guide to work your way through the mazeWhat I essentially have on my hands is a decent camera with a ridiculously confusing method of transferring files.Given 2 stars to be generous in the hope I find a way to combat this problem. If not I'm selling it on and getting myself a simple copy and paste file camera. HD is not worth this hassle.

I've found this camera quite easy to use, it fits firmly into my hand and its been a quick process to grab the camera and record something cute one of the babies have been doing which is exactly what I want.As for the quality of the movies, they're clear and sound is well presented, I've been pleased with the purchase.
