I wanted to like this but....would NOT buy again
We purchased this product for beach days with the kids. It opens up and works ok. It mostly sat in the garage unused. I was surprised when one of the poles had broken after only using it 5 times. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they could nothing because it was after the 1 year warranty. They also do not have any repair service available.So we are out of luck with a useless shelter after only 5 uses. I definitely would not buy again. The company does not stand behind their product.

Any idiot can stand in the sun
Far better than an oversized beach umbrella but not near the hassle to lug of a 10x10 sunshade. If you intend to use chairs your only able to fit two legless under shelter, they too are lighter perfect for a beach trip. Quality, its sure to last a season with reasonable care in set up and take down, its not heirloom quality at this price and your not going to be handing it down to appreciative relatives after a season or two.

Perfect for 1 person at the beach
I used this for a recent vacation where I was going to send several days at the beach and I sunburn easily. I was very happy with this shelter. I didn't use the sand pockets but I did stake down the shelter and the shelter stayed in place on a VERY windy day.I think this is perfect for a baby/toddler beach play area or for 1 adult. I was able to fit my Tommy Bahama beach chair, my beach bag & cooler in the tent with not issues. If your looking for something that will be comfortable for 2 adults & beach chairs I recommend getting a larger size especially if you want to be completely shaded. My legs stuck out while seated in the chair.I was able to open and stake down the shelter within 5 minutes by myself. I'd say 1-2 minutes to set it up and 2-3 minutes to stake it down.I do recommend opening it up at home before trying to open it at the beach. This way you'll know how much strength is needed to pull the strings to get the shelter to pop open.I only gave it 4 stars because:I wish mesh windows had a covering like other modelsI wish the bottom of the shelter extended further out like other modelsI wish it was a little bigger.I live by a beach and plan on having many more beach days using this shelter. Once I've worn it out I will probably invest in a larger one.

Great easy, lightweight shelter
I used it every day for a week and quite liked it. I could get 2 kids and 1 grownup more or less out of the sun for a break now and then. Although I had to puzzle through the directions the first time I set it up and took it down; after that it was easy - really a 90 second project if you’re using the stakes and sandbags- 5 seconds of you just pop it up. And it was just what we needed. Perhaps a bit too lightweight for a *really* stiff wind- stake and sandbags kept it from flying down the beach but it almost blew over anyway when we had strong gusts. Only complaint is that I could wish the canopy extended another 6 inches or so for more shade when the sun is directly overhead. But we loved this tent and hope it lasts.

Was great until it broke in a breeze
I liked this for a little over a week during my vacation- it was easy to learn to use, spacious enough for my wife and baby to get a little shade, and felt secure in the sand.But then a light breezy day on the sand broke a pole in half while my baby was underneath, send it collapsing onto her. She wasn’t hurt, but the rent was useless after that, and it was scary to have happen.It wasn’t a very windy day either. If this is meant for beaches, which are often windy, it should withstand a breezy day.

Lightweight, simple, sturdy. Perfect!!
Arrived 2 days early:) As promised - very lightweight, easy to put up even by one person, only needed two stakes on the front and the sand bags filled to keep it perfectly in place on a windy beach. Just what I needed!!!!

Goes up and down very easily, very light, easy to carry but very little sun protection as sides are mesh and there is no fly. Throwing beach towels on top to cover the mesh sides was not what I imagined I was going to have to do especially for the price!!

It worked great as shade
It worked great as shade, but wasn't as easy to take down and pack up as I had expected. Since the edges go up for storage, it was also hard to get all the sand out. Not a bad product but I wouldn't buy it again.
