Learn Chinese or else
As an amateur radio operator for the past 46 years I found this product to be absolutely WORTHLESS. While it has the potential to be a good dual band mobile transceiver, it presently has ZERO support. What Zatone calls a user manual is a 3 page printed form that transliterates Chinese to English and is incomprehensible. Going to the Zastone website to request support results in Chinese character replies. This has happened with other Chinese amateur radio equipment like Baofeng, but they've been at it long enough to now offer support in what I would call 6th. grade level English. Zastone is pre-kindergarten level. DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU ARE FLUENT IN Chinese.

Excellent low cost radio (if you know how to deal with the annoyances)
This is the best low end radio that I am aware of. Sensitivity and signal strength are much better than the Baofeng/BTECH and the clones thereof. No raw noise like with those (once you switch off that annoying max volume beep that comes set from the factory). Running two of them. One for my discone antenna and one for my yagi. Considering that the radios and antennas cost less than the 100 feet LMR400 cable connecting them its really worth it. Made some QSOs over 50 miles with it in Chicagoland.Oh yes this is a rebranding of the Baojie-BJ218. Same radio, same firmware. Different label on the radio and the microphone. The box is bigger but contains the same items. This comes with amazon prime so it can be returned if one cannot handle it.Works with CHIRP (under BJ-218). Cannot program settings with Chirp though. Firmware seems to be not being updated. The following problems exist:1. Annoying beep at max volume on every keystroke and boot. Volume cannot be controlled but you can switch it off by pressing MENU MENU, then find the BEEP entry and set to off. Peace and quiet will follow.2. You cannot enter a number to select a channel. You can type in a frequency in frequency mode but no number in channel mode. You can only select the functions in the first and last row on the microphone. The middle two rows do not work. You have to use the menu to do these things (like changing power).Otherwise an excellent radio with an unbeatable price.Greetings from K9CHL

Zastone Z218
Just purchased my 2nd one 2 days ago! Directions kind of suck, but if you if you program what you need with Chirp software, then everything is pretty simple afterwards. I dont like how I am unable to change channels or frequencies through the mic set. You can do scans from the mic though, but just not the same when you only want to move to your next programmed channel. This little unit has great sound! It does get pretty loud, and it is very clear for internal speaker. Well worth the price. 3 different power settings.

Fiance loved it!
My fiance loved this. He works with amateur radios and has been wanting to build his own radio for a long time. After looking at several higher-priced options, he decided to give this a shot. He was able to use it to build his own radio, and is very pleased with himself! Would definitely recommend. No issues with the receiver and the display is quite nice.

Cheap unit that performs, hard menus to navigate.
It is a Chinese unit. Hard to program and the menus are not very intuitive. Overall for the money it is a good little unit! It was the only one that would fit about be rear view mirror in my 4Runner.

Great little radio for the price!
Radio arrived on time! Easy set-up! Small yet powerful! The 25watts is sufficient enough to reach towers in my area! Great little radio for the price! Enjoy!
