Magic Carpet Ride...
The Atom Drop Through Longboard is nearly perfect in every way. My board, which I have lovingly named Felicia, arrived in about a week in a cardboard box that was a bit too small - there was almost no package padding. But when I opened the dented box, all vestiges of doubt fled. This board is beautiful. The craftsmanship is simply out-of-this-world. I jumped on it and started riding immediately. The ride was as smooth as butter, and I felt as though I was flying, with almost no resistance. The wide deck is curved, flexible and has great strength - it should comfortably support someone of 210 pounds or so (I weigh 195). The deck tape is grippy and rather coarse. The wheels and bearings are a great combination - the board just rolls and rolls, seemingly without much effort. The trucks are attractive, responsive and solidly made.Turning radius is a bit wide - the board requires a bit of lean in order to effect a reasonable 180 degree turn - but once you get the hang of it, you're solid. There is no wheelbite whatsoever. Kicking is wonderful, because the board is a drop through, making its height lower than a top mounted board.I got caught in a torrential downpour on the boardwalk approximately three miles away from my car - the board might as well have been a rowboat - it got me back to the car quickly and efficiently. Later, after it was left to dry, I was happy to see that the deck did not warp. Some of the truck componentry is painted black, and the paint chips down there from flying stones, resulting in small rust spots. The truck mounting screws will loosen on the board over time, despite their loctite nuts, resulting in annoying rattling and loose handling - be sure to keep a tool with you when boarding to tighten things up after heavy cruising.I love this longboard! I have owned it for three months, and I ride it nearly every day. It's easy and pleasurable to ride and very confidence-inspiring. I take it with me everywhere, and it gets tons of compliments. I highly recommend it!

Great board that lasts, beginners welcome
I've had this product for a little under a year now before I decided to write a review on it. This was my first longboad and it was definitely a great decision.Pros:There is no chance of wheel bite with this type of board, the length gives me a nice feeling of balance and sturdiness. Board is on the stiff side but that can be a good thing for beginners who hold stability over most things. It's more for downhill than tricks but I use it just to cruise around wherever I am, the style is pretty versatile. The biggest thing I noticed when I first started riding it was that it holds it's speed very very well compared to some cheaper longboards I have ridden which is a really nice perk when having to go uphill. The size of the wheels, as with most longboards, handles cracks well as long as you're going fast enough. I did loosen the trucks a little bit after I was more comfortable so I could carve with a little more ease (they were a bit tight to begin with) but it's pretty good out of the box, as is.Cons:You definitely feel the ground from these wheels which is a downside for a person who likes a very smooth ride but I personally like feeling the bumps and gravel, it's just something to get used to. Like I said before, trucks can be tight but that's an easy fix with a skate tool that you should have regardless just in case. Board doesn't flex too much (again another personal preference). When you're buying a longboard, especially for beginners who are just getting into skateboarding in general, the cost really can say a lot about the quality. If you're planning on making this a real hobby and want to stick with it, Atom boards are a good place to start that both won't break your wallet and won't break a week after you take it out of the box.

Great cheap beginners board
Great cheap beginners board. I used to skate a lot growing up but never longboards. I wanted to get back into it but I have no desire to do tricks anymore. In an attempt to make my commute to the train every morning better I picked this up.Its great for the price and I wouldn't have batted an eye if it was more expensive. I really dont have a complaint. The biggest thing I saw in the reviews were complaints about the bearings. You NEED to loosen the wheels when you buy this board. They nuts on the trucks are cranked so tight you can barely roll. Loosen them up and break them in and this thing cruises amazing. You don't need new bearings just loosen it up a bit.

I've been using this board for a while now and I actually like it better than my Loaded Dervish (Flex 2)
Ok, I've been using this board for a while now and I actually like it better than my Loaded Dervish (Flex 2). I'm 165lbs max and 6' tall and the Dervish seems a bit unstable in comparison with this. This is a very sturdy board, easy to use and perfect for downhill. It has a wide stance and can go over bumps and small rocks like nothing. I've gotten it stuck on a rock or two and was ejected, but these were at low speeds when I wasn't paying much attention. I rode this board 26 miles one day and it was awesome. It sits low enough to make pushing easy on your body, but not so low that it scrapes on speed bumps and stuff. I'm a huge fan of this board. Overall it was an awesome purchase

Top class board
Fantastic Board, 5/5 stars for cursing, i use it to ride to college daily and its amazing! the bearings are very fluid allowing for alot of free wheeling out of the box, but if you want a little more like i did, i would soak them and then replace the grease with some bearing oil instead, though you will have to re-lube them more often, it makes a much smoother ride (though out of the box it is really nice). I found that after riding it for the first time the trucks came a little loose for the deck itself, nothing a screwdriver and spanner couldn't fix, would recommend taking said tools on your first ride to tighten as it vibrates loose. Grip tape is glorious, board has a good level of flex in it to keep it comfortable in turns and not too soft that it is effort to ride at speed. Finally the Trucks are just plain awesome for the stocks, personally i like mine looser so i can stick corners better but the tighter bushes for higher speeds is very good as well.Overall would recommend to any beginner-intermediate casual longboarder, if you hav e the money this is a great board that will do you well!

Comfortable, fast and light
New to longboarding so have now other boards to compare with so my findings can't be considered as anecdotal. The bamboo board is very flexible and springy which in conjunction with the large soft durometer wheels a means cruising around is very smooth, comfortable and quiet.Out of the box one wheel was very loose, one other wheel slightly loose and wobbling, so with only one wheel correctly fastened someone needs to start doing a better job.Continuing from the above, both trucks become loose after a quick 5 minute ride to the needed to be tightened up, luckily I had tools to my hand. Out of the box the truck bushing was soo tight it made turning a mild corner impossible. On the basis that the board comes with no instructions or pre ride safety check list the above is poor form.Back to the board, after many many hours spent of the board o absolutely love it. Smooth, fast, lightweight and looks great. I change the wheels to something slightly harder whilst I learn the basic sliding skills but the stock wheels are great too.Overall the board = amazeballs though whomever preassembles them needs to do better.

this board has inspired my friends to longboard
this is my first board of any kind so I can't really compare it to others but as a beginner, I found this board extremely easy to ride. The trucks turn smoothly and the grip tape is certainly fabulous and 'grippy'. I've been using it for just over a week now and I haven't fallen off it (yet) even when riding on the roughest terrain. It rides over rocks and twigs with ease but I will be changing the bearings as they're not as good as some out there. However, because of how good this longboard is, all of my friends are now getting their own longboards (maybe ones a little bit cheaper) because of how much they love this one. When the longboard arrived, the box was a little bit damaged (probably from the shipping) and it was covered loosely with plastic which means that it didn't get stuck in the bolts and wheels, which is good.Overall, this longboard is absolutely great and was a good gift for my 14th birthday, the design is eye catching and it travels smoothly, 100% recommend to anyone, even if you've never ridden a board like me or you're a professional.

Very good all round board
This board has middle flex, middle concave and middle length. Great for cruising and for speed. I highly recommend lubing the bearings as soon as you get them since mine came bone dry
