Best product ever purchased
This product is by far the best product I have ever purchased. Particularly referring to the mouse, which has helped me improve my productivity by at least 30%, since I need to browse through large documents. It has the most outstanding scrolling mechanism. I already purchased 5 of those and I started giving them as gifts to my friends. The keyboard is also very good but the mouse alone is worth the price (you can also buy the mouse independently). Not only the products are excellent, but once I lost my receiver for the MX Revolution mouse and Logitech offered to send me another one! This particular version supports bluetooth, which means you can use the keyboard & mouse without any receivers. The setup for bluetooth took me about 3 minutes.I never spent the time to review products before, but this one deserves the effort!

will take getting used to (keyboard characters too small & straight)
I have just recently got this so have not tried everything on it, but based on initial use it is very good & suits my needs well. It was a slight bit tricky originally getting them all hooked up as the instruction leaflet did not spell out what to do once you had the mouse battery charged. However when I looked in the troubleshooting section, it did explain what to do. So once all was charged, rebooted & red connection buttons pressed, they all connected very quickly. My laptop is quite old, and does not have bluetooth internally, so I am using the dongle supplied.I only really bought this for the keyboard, which is quite flat but with height adjusters, as I much prefer (I hate keyboards that don't allow you to adjust the height). Its LCD panel can be changed to black on light or light on black, although it could be brighter (probably trying to save battery), it's not too bad. I've tried the volume/mute keys & they work fine, when mute is pressed this is also handily highlighted on the LCD screen. I dislike that the date on the LCD screen is 'October 30, 2012'in the US style & not '30 October 2012' as I'm used to, but again no big deal. The keys are nice & flat, not much deeper to go than my laptop's keys; since I'm well used to these I'm happy with that (although when I originally got my laptop they took some getting used to). Keyboard is good & light which makes sitting it on my knees easy, and even holding it in one hand for a bit is no problem. Compared to my laptop keyboard, the caps lock key is much smaller, but all other keys are the same size or bigger. I like that the delete key is so big, my laptop one is tiny & I was forever missing it. I also really appreciate the built-in numpad which I sorely missed on my laptop. I do a lot of number input so like to have this. The arrow keys are nice & big, easy to find without looking. The only thing that really annoys me is the size of the characters on the keyboard itself. They are really small, and all in caps - both of which are quite frustrating to get used to; e.g. I can hold this keyboard, and still see the letters/numbers on my laptop's keyboard more easily, even though they're much further away. I don't know why they're so small on this keyboard, I don't see any reason for it, there is loads of empty space around each character that could have been used. On top of that, they are as I said in caps, which is not something i normally much use so I'm having to get fully used to that. A third issue is that the type used is somewhat difficult to read, it's like what was probably used in the Matrix - you know, very straight lines, e.g the U is not rounded at all, it's 2 very straight down lines & 1 straight across line; same thing with the J, it's all straight lines when I expect natural curves. Even the question mark is all straight- it's just very strange to me to have them designed like this. The capital O in particular looks almost exactly like the number 0. A lot of the time I have to pause and check to make sure I'm hitting the right key. But hopefully once I've used it more it'll become more familiar. As another reviewer said, the placing of the home/end/pg up/pg down/delete keys is a bit different to usual so again takes a bit of getting used to, but no big deal. The keys are a good bit further apart than on my laptop (about 3-4 times further), so I do have to reach a bit further, but again it's not a big deal & i can get used to that. It was the opposite issue when I first got my laptop, so I know I can adjust. The arm rest i don't have much use for, it's just not something I have ever had before & haven't needed so far.The mouse I can't say much about as i generally use a mouse as little as possible, much preferring the keyboard. I have a touchpad on my laptop and prefer that also over the mouse. However in saying that, when i have found the need to use the mouse it has been fine, no problem hitting buttons which are placed right where your fingers sit, so no reaching required which is good. It's bigger than the one i use at work, and a lot more comfortable. Just to note though, from my limited use of the mouse I already have several small scratches on the bottom due to having no mousepad, so I'd definitely recommend having one of those to use it.Other than that, I just found it quite tricky getting the CD-ROM out of the packaging, I really thought at one stage that I was surely going to break it, it was in there so tight, but thankfully I eventually got it out intact - it was definitely not going to fall out! It also arrived 2 days earlier than estimated which was a very welcome surprise, since I'm abroad. So all in all, just good enough for my purposes.

Beware of this combo.
I received my MX5500 Revolution yesterday and have tried to get the thing to work properly ever since. The setpoint software that arrives with the package does not work. I spent a good hour on the phone with the techies from Logitech, tried a few things to correct the fault and nothing helped. Then I was informed that it is a known problem and they are working to fix it.Also the mouse works all right for a while and then becomes very sluggish and jittery, every time I boot up my computer I have to change the mouse settings using the Windows Vista Control Panel.Do not buy this lump of plastic.I gave it 2 stars because it is a pretty lump of plastic.

Starting to have problems.
I have owned this product just over 2 years and now the USB Bluetooth receiver has stopped working. I did buy a Plugable USB Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy Micro Adapter last year so luck would have it I can sync my Keyboard and Mouse to that. Also having problems with the mouse charger. Putting the mouse on charge is very fiddley now as I think the connection from the mouse to the charger has warn down. The Keyboard and Mouse do feel good to use. It's a shame about these problems.

Disappointing
Bought this as the HUD on the keyboard showing details of mail, temperature and date/time, but unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations.First, the Unread Mail wasn't accurate. I had two unread mail in my box, it read 3. I read all my emails, and carried on what I was doing, the display said 1 unread email even though there were no unread emails. More mail comes in, and the display still doesn't read the right number, and at one stage, no email in the Inbox still displayed 1 unread email on the unit. The temperature was out by a degree, two wall mounted clocks gave the temperature as 22.6 and 22.8, yet this unit said 21. Worst still, there was no Num Lock key, instead being replaced by a "Clear" button. The final nail in the coffin was the mouse, which had a button right on the thumb that clicked when the hand was placed naturally on it, I don't suffer from other mice with side buttons, so I can only conclude the mouse included with this product isn't ergenomically designed. The final insult was that previous keyboard and mouse on my computer refused to work. A spare Logitech mouse continued to work, but non-logitech (Nexon, HP mouse, HP and Cyborg keyboards) didn't work, even on uninstalling Setpoint, the software installed for the keyboard. Only a system restore allowed all previous keyboards and mouse to work correctly. So, caution with this item, if you decide to go with another keyboard and mouse in the future, you'll have problems if it's not Logitech, and for this keyboard and mouse, it has more flaws than features.

Great keyboard and mouse set
I got this set to replace my old one (mouse finally gave up). Really glad I did. I was very happy with the old one and from reviews I've read, the newer ones aren't as good. Mouse is very comfortable, easy to slide, click, etc. Logitech software has lots of settings you can adjust. The only complaint I have is that I always have to use the Bluetooth USB adaptor. Doesn't seem to work all the time with my laptop's built-in Bluetooth. But, maybe it's a problem with my laptop.
