More than just Elden Ring Fortnite
Yes, its playable solo, however you will have way more fun playing in groups. The matches are frantic and require teamwork to take down bosses in quick succession so you can build your team up and take down one final big boss at the end. It has a lot of replayability and feels familiar with a twist. The poster that comes with the Amazon exclusive is also pretty cool, though mine arrived with a small tear in packaging. But it wasnt noticeable once I put it in a frame.

Fast Paced, not for dungeon crawls and spelunking
Not what I expected, but if you know Elden Ring and how to sprint - this game is really fun. Very fast based, not so much for cave diving - its rock em' sock em' robots. FUN!

Doesnt play like the original but it was fun!
This is such an amazing game to play with friends. It doesn't play like a traditional Elden Ring and it's more fact paced/arcade-y than the original. Some people may/may not like it but I had fun playing with friends.

This is not Elden Ring 2
What you get: The physical game, the poster folded up several times to fit in the case, a digital download for the art book and soundtrack, the dlc coming up Pros: Updated game mechanics such as a separate sprint button, easier jumping, ledge grabbing, points on the map where you can use a bird to travel a preset path. Classic character skins from the dark souls series. No PvP or invasions. Cons: The dark souls skins are only after you beat the game. Changed the emote system to be more tedious. Heavily relies on 3 player co-op, no real gear customization for weapons or equipment. If you fail a mission it takes 40 minutes to attempt the boss fight. Only 8 missions/main bosses. Takes everything about the previous games and does a 180 so no taking your time to level up and build your character. Reviving your teammates can be annoying since you have to hit them repeatedly to pick them up and it can be easy to miss them while enemies are coming at you. Summary: It took me about 35 hours to beat all the bosses, certainly a learning curve to get out of the dark souls mind set (similar to the transition from dark souls to bloodborne or sekiro). I hated most of the time resetting it players dropping out or splitting up. Very frustrating to get into the main boss fights to die to crazy AoE attacks when you have no idea what to expect just to take 40 minutes to attempt it again. This may be worth waiting on for a lower price or for a few patches for the game to be more fun. If you want dark souls meets PUBG then this may be for you. If you are looking for an elden ring or dark souls experience, then this is not the game.

Elden wow
yo squad listen UP this elden ring nightreign ps5 amazon exclusive deluxe edition is straight FIRE for us fromsoft addicts 😩🔥 no cap, it’s like elden ring but on CRACK - roguelite co-op hell where you squad up with 2 homies for 45-min runs SLAYING nightlords in limveld?? pure chaos energy. gameplay: 12/10. pick from 8 nightfarers (wylder my goat for bonk city, duchess op af early game) grab relics, build busted synergies, dash thru shifting maps dodging one-shots while farming runes. bosses are PEAK souls - malenia who?? these 3-phase nightmares got me screaming in discord at 3am. combat feels faster, snappier, no clunky solo vibes if ur squaded (pro tip: hop on vc bc no in-game chat is criminal 💀). deluxe flex: base game + forsaken hollows dlc (dec 4 drop w/ 2 new classes like undertaker grave queen & scholar brainrot mage, extra bosses/areas) + digital artbook/soundtrack. amazon exclusive? that 11x17 poster hits diff for the shelf glow-up. snagged mine on sale for $35 (reg $55) staying power: infinite. matchmaking solid on ps5 but duo/solo mid (play w/ friends or perish). dlc boutta extend the grind, already 100+ hrs sunk. survived my irl situationship ghosting mid-run lmao. final vibe check: ✨ co-op highs: 11/10 ✨ boss rizz: 10/10 ✨ replay grind: yes maam ✨ worth the bag: if u got a squad? PERIODT run (don’t walk) to amazon before sales end 😤🗡️🤍

Huge, longtime FromSoftware fan and this game is a MASSIVE miss and should have been free-to-play.
ETA: Finally beat the game and thought about adding an additional star simply because of the throwback to the previous souls games (some bosses and outfits). After thinking about it, I don't think recycling assets is all that praiseworthy. Instead, it should be about the experience as a whole and how enjoyable it is and, for me, it just wasn't. The whole thing felt like a mess from start to finish and learning the bosses was more tedious than need be because you couldn't rush past enemies or spawn right outside of the fog gate to fight again - nope, you had to go through the whole 45 minute painful ordeal, probably with some yo-yos who play like Rambo and get killed and/or quit. That's another issue, should a person quit, the boss still maintains the difficulty of a full team. So ,when someone quits out or keeps dying you feel more like you joined the three stooges than the musketeers. Also shifting Earth events are bugged for me and many others, game is so trash…they are tied with world tendency for terrible decisions. For reference, it took me four tries to beat Promised Consort Radahn pre-nerf in the SotE DLC and as much as I disliked that fight (haven't fought him since they nerfed him), I still enjoyed it more than the encounters in this game. Also, I see folks talking about this game and multi-player as if that's something fresh. These games have been multi-player since the beginning complete with invasions and jolly cooperation. I loved both. This game though? Only folly and infuriation. That said, I did wrestle with adding another star for the throwbacks and also updating the solo play difficulty. The bottom line is, I just wouldn't even include this game in a ranking list that compares From's games from Demon's to Elden Ring (never played King's Field) - it would be like putting a hot dog on the menu of a three Michelin star restaurant...only this game is that gray hot dog that was cooked in boiling water. New Rating: 1.5/5. I split the difference because the matchmaking is either horribly broken or the player base has all but evaporated. You can have a FAR superior experience for half the price right now ($20) with Lords of the Fallen Version 2.0. I had an absolute blast with that game and forgot to mention it among the non-From, souls-like games I platinumed. It’s a beautiful game built on the Unreal engine not more of this last gen Sekiro engine business. Most importantly it’s insanely fun and satisfying. Some of the majors issues I have are that it seems to forget its original player base in favor of creating something "new" based on stealing an old idea from other games (common to be sure). The mulit-player idea isn't new and neither is the Battle Royale idea. It's a recycled Frankenstein's Monster of a game. From, or maybe just the director, seem to be tone-deaf when it comes to what made its original player base so happy. The director of this game wants you to "believe in yourself." Haha, nice platitude for victory. He also claims he beat his own game solo and with others. I should hope so, it's your FULL TIME JOB. If you're a professional streamer or have nothing else going on, you might think nothing of wasting an hour for each run to learn a boss. It's just not practical for most people. My IRL friends don't game, my wife doesn't game, and my two cousins that do either won't or can't (one switched to PC and the other has trouble tying his shoes it seems when it comes to gaming). So that leaves me stuck with randoms, which isn't ideal because most just want to tell others where to go rather than being strategic about why we should go there - think it's a bad idea and then get themselves killed? Most of the time they quit, penalizing the remaining players with no reduction in difficulty. I actually find solo to be easier or at least just as difficult because the bosses aren't as spongy. I can see this game being tolerable and maybe even, dare I say, somewhat fun with a group that works together. I have found a team that works together on rare occasion and admittedly the experience is much better, probably better than solo but not as good as what a team of friends would be - it's just the outlier and exception to the rule. I would imagine this is the experience of most players too. Even my group of Souls fanatics fiends on my PS friends list have either passed on it or gave up on it. I wish I could love this game because I do love FromSoft and wanted so badly to love this but I just don't - sadly, I don't even like it. I hear there is DLC planned for this and that’s odd to me, SotE is DLC, this is something different as in the “different” used to describe someone’s cooking. So buckle up and get excited, because more something is being added to this something! OG Review: I've been a fan of FromSoftware games since the original Demon's Souls released on the PS3 in 2009. Since then, I've platinumed the entire Souls-like catalog (Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring) and some non-FromSoft Souls-likes (Mortal Shell, Lies of P, The Surge, etc.) I've loved all of them for various reasons. By contrast, I've not been a fan of Battle Royale type games with shrinking arenas so I've never bothered to even try them (although, I do like some rogue-likes). I thought if there were a developer that could help me to enjoy a BR game, it would be FromSoft. Boy, was I was wrong. It's not at all ideal to play solo nor is it really intended to be. So with that it mind, you're at the mercy of the matchmaking system and the blessing of the RNG lottery with who you get matched up with. It's like herding cats to get people to work together and out of the 15-20 matches I have yet to find even one where someone used their mic, created a chat to talk or even sent a message. Having friends who play seems to be the optimal way to "enjoy" this and I'm starting to think it might be the only way. Everything that gave FromSoft games their charm is stripped away and replaced with a hurry up and kill this/these thing(s) so you can get lucky or unlucky with loot that your character mostly has no use of to eventually kill the very last thing and if you die, you start from ground zero. Well, almost ground zero, you might get some laughably useless upgrades such as +1 Strength when carrying THREE great shields. The days/rounds are too fast to be able to enjoy much of the journey because you are forced to hurry through the map before the purple thief of joy forces you all into a pile of "heroes" outfitted with junk gear so you can fight a damage sponge of a boss. If you go down, not to worry! Your buddies can come over and beat the snot out of you to get you up - that's right, you revive teammates by hitting them with your weapon over and over again. I wish I were making this up. If you should die along the way, the game makes fun of you not with words but by reducing your level so now your junk gear is even more junky and so is your poor adventurer. This one has all of the janky hallmarks of a free-to-play game and it REALLY should have been. It's an embarrassment to the FromSoftware brand. Wait until this is either free or not more than $10, just like your money your time is better spent elsewhere.

Fantastic! Great fun co-op and amazing story when you unlock the memories. I was worried about this type of game but FromSoftware has impressed me again and again
