Its ok.
Works pretty good, but the watch is not very good for transitioning to other functions. Also the calibration for the compass could be better. Lastly…the compass lock for the waypoint needs to be brighter.

Perfect for me so far, all the features for reasonable $
I bought this early July during Prime Days. So I got a really good price on it ( 280 ). So, for me, at that price point, it can't be beat: I have a compass. I can charge it the night before a diving trip. ( I dont wear it every day, just to dive, so the battery life isn't an issue and I wanted to be able to charge it myself without visiting a jewelry store like the water-resistant watches from decades ago) It records everything I need ( depth, temp, time,...). Perfect for me, the recreational diver who will not spend 1000 or more on a device that i can only use on occasion ( I'd love to dive more, but I work too and I dont live near the water)

Great dive watch
I love the D5 and have logged over 400 dives on it. The screen is very customizable and will feature the info you deem important. The brightness can be adjusted as well- I have no problem reading the info in a variety of situations. The watch connects seamlessly to the tank pod. I find that I can reliably do four dives without recharging the battery. I’ve been on countless liveaboard trips and have never had battery issues.

Not as bright as the Teric
Bought this at my local dive shop not on Amazon. This computer seems ok but it doesn't get nearly as bright or as black as the Teric. If you can spend the extra $400 I say buy the Teric instead. This picture is on "very low" brightness. I suggest keeping it on this setting as the battery dies really fast on anything else. Also it doesn't get much brighter, just washed out. Shearwater is coming out with a cheaper alternative to the Teric early January called the Tern. If you can wait I'd buy that instead. It has the same bright AMOLED screen. We're going to the Maldives December 1st so it wasn't an option for us.
