Clear and present
As you would expect from Shinoni an excellent product, easy to set up and the output is excellent. You will need to buy the batteries separately

Missing cable, will try to double charge you if you return unused.
Item unused but comes with no HDMI to connect to the camera. Upon closer inspection there is no option to mount it portrait and a deep dive into YouTube shows its only compatible with Sony a7s3 as a display monitor only so the touch screen is useless. Company tried to keep 20% plus postage despite terms saying 10% if used which it was not. Amazon had to overrule the company. Bad experience.

The Atomos Shinobi II is such a good monitor. The picture quality is outstanding, sharp, bright, and clear, even in different lighting conditions. I was stoked to see how good the image looked straight out of the box. It’s also very easy to connect and set up, which makes it perfect for quick shoots or on-the-go work. The build feels solid and professional, not flimsy at all, so I can trust it will last. Overall, this monitor delivers everything I expected and more. If you’re looking for a reliable field monitor with excellent image quality, this is the one to get.

Remplace avantageusement mon Ninja V trop gros et trop lourd. Connexions et recharges parfaites avec FX3 et A7IV. Du tout bon !

It's a modern lightweight monitor that can be used on most cameras. Although I tried using it on my DJI Ronin 4D, unfortunately it doesn't have DJI monitoring settings.

I’ve been using the Atomos Shinobi II with my Sony FX30 rig, and it’s completely changed how I shoot. This monitor isn’t just a screen—it’s a precision tool that’s earned its place in my kit. EL Zone False Color = No More Light Meter The EL Zone false color mode is a game-changer. It gives me exposure feedback that’s far more intuitive and accurate than traditional false color. I’ve stopped using my light meter altogether. Whether I’m lighting interviews or dialing in skin tones, I trust what I see on this monitor. Outdoor Beast: 1000+ Nit Brightness Shooting outdoors? No problem. The Shinobi II’s 1000-nit HDR display punches through sunlight like it’s nothing. I’ve used it in full daylight with no hood, and it’s still perfectly visible. The screen is sharp, color-accurate, and responsive. Color Calibration with Calibrite HL I calibrated the monitor using the Calibrite ColorChecker Display HL, and the results are stunning. Colors are consistent across my workflow—from camera to post. If you care about color fidelity, this feature alone makes it worth the investment. Power & Rig Integration I run the Shinobi II off my V-mount battery via USB-C PD, and it’s rock solid. No overheating, no power drops. It integrates seamlessly with my fully rigged FX30 setup (SmallRig cage, 99Wh battery, Shinobi II, teleprompter), and it handles the weight and power demands like a champ. Why It’s a Must-Have: • EL Zone false color = exposure confidence • 1000-nit brightness = daylight visibility • Calibratable for pro color workflows • USB-C PD = easy power from V-mounts • Lightweight, rugged, and beautifully designed If you’re serious about monitoring and want a tool that delivers pro-level features without the bulk or complexity, the Shinobi II is it. I wouldn’t shoot without it.
