Conair BC171CS Hot Air Styler - 2 Heat Setting - 1000 W - AC Supply Powered

I have combination texture hair, which means if the sky clouds up my hair frizzes. I wear it in a chin-length layered bob. As soon as I got this, I popped it out of the package and went to work on my dry hair that I blew out two days ago. Earilier, I got caught in a snow shower, and my hair had fuzzed up righteously.WOW. In about 3 minutes of basically using this tool like a hair brush, I got what looked like a freshly blown out bob with bounce and swing.This sucker gets hot; I only used it for about 3 minutes, but I think if I needed to use it longer, I might need to cycle between high and low settings. I had another tool like this that only had 300watts and it was a joke. The heat is excellent.The hairbrush bristles are quite soft, but they grab a little too much for my fine and breakable hair. So, I did what another reviewer did: I hacked the large barrel by undoing two tiny screws and removing the brush bristles and leaving the comb teeth. This allowed me to get close to the scalp to tame the frizz from follicle to hair tip. The comb teeth held my hair but also let it slide through comfortably.This tool probably won't work if you like that pin-straight effect of hair irons. Also, I see some reviewers trying to use it like a curling iron, wrapping hair a couple times in it. I wouldn't do that; you wouldn't do that with a round brush or a plain comb and expect it to work, either. I'm tossing my old curling iron and the other tool I mentioned, but I'm keeping hot rollers for serious curling.Last, I tried this first on dry hair that two days away from a shower. I didn't buy this for the dryer piece, so I didn't test it. All I can say is it works great on dry hair.

Three stars because the curler gets way too hot and burns my scalp. Plus, the brush will not easily grab my hair. Will not hold my hair in place till the curl sets. This brush is probably better for longer hair. Although, my hair is short. I still have enough hair to be grabbed by a 1 inch or a 0.75 inch barrel, easily. My hair is about 2.75 to 3 inches all over my head. So the unit should have grabbed my hair.Nothing wrong with seller. They got the unit to me way ahead of time & packed very well. I wish I could have kept it. But the burning my scalp was a no, no.

This dryer is easy to use and has great heat and drying power. I am giving it 3 stars because the locking mechanism that holds the brush to the wand broke after a few uses. I can still use it but I have to hold the brush to make it stay on. This is my third Conair round brush dryer and the locking mechanism had broken on each one. With previous models it took months to happen but in this case it was almost immediate. I wish they would fix this design flaw since it’s a great tool otherwise.

It's really easy to use and styles my hair well.

Does get a bit hot

When my original one blew while I tried to use it in Europe, I replaced it with this one. It works exactly the same.

I like the medium-size brush with the heated surface -- does a good job if used for styling hair after the hair is mostly dried.

Does exactly what I wanted! Should have bought this a long time ago!!
