Gourmet Basics Alexandria 48 Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 12

My wife and I have been searching for "the right dinnerware" for over a year. We ordered 24 place settings and 3 serving bowls. We will never seat 24 guests; but we liked the design and, as these will be everyday dinnerware, we wanted to have sufficient spares for several years.Unpacking revealed stunning dinnerware which coordinates very well with our decor. The ad picture is very accurate.The plates are quite large as are the salad plates. The cups are a healthy 12 ounce standard cup; no skimping on the size. The bowls are large and will serve well as a large soup/cereal bowl as well as a small to medium serving bowl.We also bought 3 of the 9" serving bowls and they are large. Perhaps "potato salad for 12 kind of large". Very happy we ordered them.I can not provide any insight as to durability. I can simply hope they wear well.My only downside comment is that I wished that there were addition pieces such as serving platter and other accessories. I suspect that this design was ordered by the supplier as a sort of a test case for the original manufacturer. (and that the original manufacturer exceeded expectations).So far, the product has exceeded our expectations,Paul ZIt has been 5 months and the dinnerware is wearing very well. This is a beautiful and stylish set of dishes and cups and appears to be of very good quality. I've owned a complete set for about 4 months now and only have 2 points of annoyance. The decorative pattern around the perimeter is indeed pleasant but it has hundreds of grooves in it (couldn't tell this from the picture of course) and these grooves tend to collect food particles and such and they don't always get removed in the dishwasher. Also, if there is a need to hand wash them, the larger plates and heavy and very unwieldy. I really really like the design and quality but the food getting caught in the grooves is aggravating. Cannot recommend this product nor will I buy it again. Smooth over the grooves in the glazing and I believe this will then truly be one of the best sets of dishes one could own.

Color is exactly as described. The plates are heavy but not too much. They don’t heat up in the microwave which is nice.

This Dinnerware set did not disappoint. It is even more pretty in real life. It feels solid with out being heavy I cant rate the durability as of yet because I haven't had them long enough to know. I even ordered the serving bowls and the spoon holder. Its a lovely set. I think it is a smidge overpriced but it seems like everything is this day's. I recommend them.

Fantastic heavy stuff here. It might actually bring down an older\lesser built cabinet shelf if you stack it all together. Our set came with a few dents. Nothing was broken...but my wife noticed.That's right boys. This set is solid. Just make sure to make up some solid BS about hand crafted blah blah blah to explain the nicks and bumps in some of the set pieces.Have a nice day, you're welcome.

I had my eye on these for a year and just put it off. I was looking at other similar styles - till I read the reviews and I was hooked and knew I made the right decision in my purchase. They came packed perfect- nothing broken no defects. They have been used in microwave and dishwasher without a problem. They are very well made. I use them for everyday. However they looked even better because of the colors for my Thanksgiving table. I would recommend them and would buy them again.

I’ve been wanting new daily dishes. I had no time to go shop for new. So, I bit the bullet and ordered these because they looked pretty online.Fast forward to me, opening the box after they were delivered and I was just blown away by their beauty and sturdiness!! The coffee cups are mug-like and I love them. The dishes are larger in circumference and really look beautiful when I set my table!! Happy here!
