Quick setup and it works great, and I received it quickly (the next day) There are not any downsides to this purchase. Overlook some of the reviews when deciding to purchase, because the literature clearly shows that it is a portable thermal printer. To be clear, I was aware of what I was buying. Please be sure you understand you are purchasing a black and white Thermal printer, an extremely better version of a receipt printer. This is not a color printer and no you will not need to buy ink cartridges. Again, you are buying a Thermal Printer. This thermal printer is better than some similar options because it does not require the use of a thermal trace paper ribbon along with the thermal paper to print. You will have to use Thermal Paper, and No you cannot use regular paper. Another benefit to this printer is that you can buy different-width paper rolls to print different-sized papers, such as 8.5“X 11”, A4, 4,33”, 3.14”, and 2.08'' width thermal paper. The best thing is the battery size because this unit comes with a 2600mAh capacity battery. where others have a 1500mAh capacity battery standard. In one of the pictures, I placed a sheet of 8.5" x 11" inch paper to see if the claims were correct, and the paper size is dead on and you will be able to print an 8.5" x 11" inch thermal paper and not have to worry is the paper size correct. I bought this printer to be used as a tool, and this is where the lower price and quality allowed me to afford to have what other companies sell for higher prices but allowed me to do it on a budget. The only thing that is missing is a case and this will be the next thing I will try and order, so I do not damage the printer while traveling. Overall, it is a great overall travel office product.

Right out of the box to my first print was probably 5 minutes. Came already charged and instructions were simple and easy to follow. The Phomemo app is very easy to use. It lets you edit your project before you print. You can see in the video that it prints pretty fast. Also comes with a USB charging cable and a Type-C adapter. It comes with a roll of thermal paper. It will work with various sizes of thermal paper/sticker paper. I have plans to get 4x6” adhesive backed paper and use this printer to make labels for things all over the house and for my work storage. It’s very portable since it’s wireless and battery charge has lasted for a very long time and I have been playing with it a lot. The app lets you print documents, photos etc. It’s editing software is great and lets you remove backgrounds, put decorative frames and sayings on your photos…all kinds of options. Once you’re in the app it connects via Bluetooth to the printer instantly and you’re ready to go. With it being thermal you don’t have to worry about buying ink! It’s also quiet which I like.

This 8-1/2x11 thermal printer has been a great purchase so far. I have really been happy with this brand. I own other printers from them. Setup for this printer was easy without any issues. I appreciate they include everything needed to get you running; start-up guide, usb cord & a roll of thermal paper. One feature I can’t wait to use it for is scanning documents. I tried it out & everything printed out nicely. The paper tear function is sharp & tears off paper cleanly. At first I wasn’t sure about the noise level when it’s printing but I got used to it. I don’t love the roll paper bcz it’s hard to straighten it so I ordered the straight paper. Overall, easy to use, well-equipped & very practical for on the go printing! Would recommend this to anyone!

Fantastic printer that works with iOS and Windows. I have gotten it to print successfully from iOS wirelessly, and wired from Windows. Was not able to get it to print over Bluetooth on Windows, but that's OK. Print quality is very good for a thermal printer. Printing won't be as rich and sharp as inkjet due to the nature of this media, but for travel, it's excellent. I have printed images and line drawings, and it printed without issues and presented very acceptable quality. Text is readable and clear as well.

This printer works great! I'm still not sure how it works, but it certainly prints like a standard printer. It's so simple to download the app and start printing. I bought multiple extra rolls of paper, so I'm always prepared. I'm on the road all the time, and sometimes I don't have the proper paperwork with me. Now that I can print it out on the spot, it's excellent! The only downfall is that once you print your document, the paper rolls back up. I haven't tried it yet, but if I fold the paper the long way, it should stay straight and firm, I believe. The printing abilities are outstanding!

Thermal paper uses receipt-like paper (I wasn't aware, this is my first printer) this printer doesn't do anything to correct the shape of the paper, it will be curly once it is printed with jagged edges. For those that care, your documents, photos need to be uploaded on an app in order to print them. The app and factories are based in china and will have access to anything you upload on their app. If that doesn't bother you, than this printer is fine for you. It's quiet, small, convenient, seems well made but I'll be returning it and just getting a printer that uses standard a4 paper and ink and probably just tough it out printing from home because I don't want to put others information at risk.

It worked to print stuff in black and white using mobile data and bluetooth

This is a wonderfully presented thermal printer. easy to setup and use. it took about 30 seconds to read the manual and have it print my first thermal print. OCR and phot printing was what i tested first and it is really great. The item come with a carry bag and cables usb C. to type A which i connected to portable battery and was printing on the go.

Also zunächst mal: Ich hab‘ den Drucker für teuer Geld erworben und lobe ihn jetzt über den grünen Klee. Nee, Quatsch, das Gegenteil ist wahr: Ich habe den Drucker vom Hersteller zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen, sage hier aber objektiv, was ich von ihm halte. Lieferung per Amazon wie gewohnt flott und zuverlässig. Die Verpackung sehr ordentlich und sehr gut geschützt, allerdings würde ich heutzutage eher Karton statt Schaumstoff erwarten. Ausgepackt und erstmal aufgeladen. Die beiliegende Kurzanleitung in sehr gut verständlichem Deutsch durchgelesen und befolgt. Zur iPhone-App: Verbindungsaufnahme mit dem Drucker per Bluetooth klappt prima, aber die Funktionalität erschließt sich mir nicht so wirklich. Das liegt vmtl. daran, dass ich nicht so wirklich die Zielgruppe für KI-generierte Cartoons bin, aber auch daran, dass die App mit Werbung überladen ist und unbedingt möchte, dass man das Abo für 40 €/Jahr abschließt. Mit dem Probeabo konnte ich immerhin z.B. Dokumente mit der Kamera ordentlich scannen, die anständig aufbereitet und dann gedruckt wurden (quasi Kopierer-Funktion). Ausdruck von Webseiten klappt auch einwandfrei, wobei auffällt, dass die Pause zwischen den einzelnen Seiten zu kurz ist, um die Seite abzureißen (sagte ich schon, dass der Betrieb standardmäßig mit Rollenpapier erfolgt?). Das Abreißen als solches an der gezahnten Kante klappt (wenn man von vorne arbeitet) einwandfrei. Auf weitere Beschäftigung mit der App habe ich aber verzichtet. Aber jetzt zum eigentlichen Anwendungsgebiet, der Standardkonfiguration "Very old school", d.h. Laptop und Drucker. Hier erfolgt der Anschluss des Druckers mit USB-C-Kabel. Den Druckertreiber hat sich Windows 11 selbst besorgt. Und hier kann ich nur feststellen, dass der Druck wie bei jedem anderen Drucker funktioniert. Bilder, Texte, Tabellen, alles kein Problem. Natürlich nicht mit Tinte oder Laser zu vergleichen, aber es geht ja gerade darum, unterwegs schnell mal was (Kurzlebiges, schließlich ist Thermopapier nicht für die Ewigkeit gedacht) zu Papier zu bringen. Ob und wie ökologisch verwerflich es ist, Thermopapier zu verwenden, lasse ich mal offen. Zum Schluss habe ich noch den Einzelblatteinzug getestet. Der Betrieb mit der eingelegten Papierrolle ist ja recht komfortabel, aber zum einen muss man das Papier dann abreißen, und zum anderen weiß man nie, wieviel noch auf der Rolle drauf ist. Bei einzelnen Blättern hat man da eher den Überblick. Also die Papierrolle entfernt und von hinten ein Blatt eingeführt, das dann auch brav angezogen wurde. Und natürlich wurde nix gedruckt. Das Blatt dann nochmal richtigrum eingeführt, und schon entsprach das Ergebnis den Erwartungen. Fazit: Der Drucker macht einen soliden und wertigen Eindruck und tut genau das, was er soll. Sein Gewicht macht sich mit etwa 0,7 kg im Rucksack schon bemerkbar, aber vergleichbare Tintendrucker wiegen mehr als das Doppelte. Wem das Gewicht wichtig ist, dem sei der deutlich teurere Phomemo Q302 (den würde ich auch gerne mal testen) mit 430 g ans Herz gelegt. Also auch wenn man sich mancherlei wünschen könnte – echte Kritikpunkte habe ich keine gefunden, und damit hat der Drucker in seinem Segment und seiner Preisklasse 5 Sterne verdient. (Die iPhone-App hab ich bei der Bewertung außen vor gelassen, die müsste durch jemanden bewertet werden, der nicht im vergangenen Jahrtausend geboren wurde.)
