The best
In my opinion, the best book in sports nutrition, the book covers the entire issue of sports nutrition in a clear and in-depth, with details and illustrations clearly. A must for all professionals!

So far, so bad.
I’ve read the first two chapters and I have to say I am very disappointed. The writing is terrible. I had to reread the section on guidelines and recommendations three times before it made any sense to me. The second chapter isn’t much better as the authors ramble and do a terrible job of reporting research findings. At one point in chapter 2 it states that “Infants should be breastfeed continuously until 2 years of age and beyond.” What? Hire an editor. I hope it gets better.

É um curso universitário completo de nutrição esportiva. São dois profissionais com muita experiência lhe dizendo o jeito certo de fazer dieta. Inicialmente, fiquei na dúvida, pois Jeukendrup e Gleeson sugeriram que eu praticamente dobrasse a minha ingestão de calorias e de que eu praticamente triplicasse a ingestão de carboidratos. Ingerir todas essas calorias é um desafio, é comida até demais. E mesmo assim, comecei a perder peso novamente; coisa que não acontecia faz um bom tempo. Também consigo uma excelente recuperação até de treinos intensos. Aos poucos vou amentar a ingestão de calorias até alcançar o equilíbrio de nem ganhar e nem perder peso. Estou dois meses da próxima maratona, e não é ideal perder ou ganhar peso no momento. Tem muita coisa técnica e científica no livro, que levaria um tempo para estudar. Pessoalmente, estou mais interessado na parte prática, que é muito bem escrita. O livro tem certo volume, mais de 600 páginas. Este livro, junto com o The Triathlete’s Training Bible de Joe Friel, são os únicos livros que o corredor, nadador, ciclista vão precisar para obter sucesso.

I've read many sports nutrition books, and this one is my favorite! The combination of underlying physiology, assessment of current research and practical applications is excellent. As with every book, not all topics are covered with the same detail. For example, the supplement section gives a great overview, but some supplements are not assessed as thoroughly as others. Still, a clear recommendation overall, especially for nutrition and exercise professionals!

Buscando la última y mas actualizada información de nutrición deportiva, encuentro información completamente desactualizada: - margarina y aceite de canola, en lugar de grasas animales - recomendaciones de consumo de alcohol para reducir el estres ?! -Recomendaciones a partir de las pirámides nutricionales completamente erróneas Y encima lo pagué demasiado caro... Me siento decepcionado :(
