Price was good.
I love the taste. Not all will agree. It's down to preference.

Excellent value and easy drinking
Excellent value whiskey provided you buy 3 in one go. My husband loves the aroma of this whiskey, and it smells like a really nice blend. We have noticed that if you shop around on amazon and compare prices on their alcohol deals to high street shops, usually, you can get a good deal. Also good to buy in bulk as saves lugging heavy items back from the supermarket.

Bushmills blackbush 1ltr
This has got to be my favourite from the Bushmills line up. Excellent with mixers or just on its own. I have yet to try it in a cocktail but I prefer just as it is. One tip I have picked up is why not try putting some in the fridge rather than adding ice, it really does change the flavour and for me it becomes smoother without watering it down. A truly excellent product, I will be purchasing this again. I would usually class this as an autumn / winter drink but can’t see why it wouldn’t be any good mixed with something to create a summer drink.

Quality whisky that nevertheless suffers from the low 40% alcohol by volume
This review is for the Bushmills 15 YO Cognac Finished Single Malt (note that *all* Bushmills offerings are aggregated here under a single consolidated review section, so be sure you’re looking at the right reviews!). This is solid whiskey: unpeated (ie, not smoky), soft and with an interesting interplay between a sweet and slightly sour character (in a good way, from the cognac most likely). This is in the vein of a sweet, crisp and fruity Speysider, for readers familiar with the style. The cognac character comes through nicely but never overpowers the underlying bourbon-casked distillate. Though perfectly pleasant, it is quite a light whisky that slips down easily. I personally prefer an oilier, rounder, more characterful drink. Irish whiskey fans may be surprised by the textural difference between this Irish malt, which is relatively thin, and a fatter, velvety Irish pot still. I would have loved to see this in a higher abv and suspect it would have carried a bit more punch at such levels. For 40% abv, it achieves respectable character on the palate but lacks the concentrated oomph of a higher abv whisky. I’m not disappointed entirely, having snapped this up at a discount during the great Prime Day sales, but would I pay full price? Personally, not quite. It was great value for the £35 or so I paid, but I’d hesitate to pay more than £45. Would this make a good gift? Yes – if your recipient is a fairly typical Irish or Scotch drinker, it’s a safe bet. It’s a good drop, the 15 YO statement hints at its cost, and the whiskey comes with a lovely golden tin to match the dram’s gold tint. If they’re a real whisky nerd, you’d be safer looking elsewhere and restricting purchases to whiskies above ~46% abv. If you’re specifically seeking an Irish whiskey, but don’t want to pay +£80 for an excessively dear cask strength Redbreast, the Lustau edition by Redbreast offers a happy medium. Bottom line: This is good, but not great.
