Feels great
Wonderful feel, easy to swap the buttons to a preferred layout, in my case Swich. RGB lighting is warm and bright. Most important, feels great in hands with solid and comfortable grips and satisfying clicky buttons. NYXI is always top quality, no exception here.

Didnt work and I got charge for restock fee in spite of it being in mint condition on return
I tried mechanically to program the back buttons and instructions were vague and incomplete. I reached out to 3 different sources but didnt get any replies. I really liked the feel of the controller and want to make it work. The instructions basically said I had to download an app to update the controller and then a SECOND app to program the buttons. That wasnt happening. Too many privacy issues these days. Also, it should be THAT complicated. After meticulously and carefully repacking the controller, when I returned it, I got hit with a 15% restocking fee which I was NOT told upon purchasing it. Also, the trigger pull was LOOONNNGG. I would not recommend this controller unless youre an I.T. / Computer expert willing to lose even more privacy. Thumbs down.

very good controler
it was very cool and it's hard to impress me when it comes to controllers and it was very good and had no drift. I would give it six stars if I could.

I like this controller, but it falls short of greatness
Back to the controller review game! It's been a bit since I tried a new controller, but it's finally time to write another review!I bought this controller because I was intrigued by the reversible joystick/dpad module, given I currently switch between layouts depending on what I'm playing.tl;dr version:I find the controller comfortable and usable enough. The dpad is excellent for my purposes and the joysticks have good resolution. I do have some concerns with some of the internal components and random disconnects though, which I will cover in the full review.----- Full review -----Standard Features:Face Buttons: Microswitch. They are quite raised from the faceplate of the controller and feel slightly heavier than my Apex 4.Center Buttons: Tactile Switch. Nothing out of the ordinary here.Shoulder Buttons: Tactile Switch - They feel a bit hollow.Triggers: Medium weight, smooth. No limiter.Joysticks: Hall Effect. Decent resistance, anti friction ring but plastic shaft.Dpad: Tactile. You can trigger other directions by rocking but it does take a little bit of force to do so. Still far easier than controllers like the GameSir Tarantula Pro.Extra Buttons: 4 Rear Buttons (tactile switch). Pretty light press to actuate. Turbo and Macro buttons. These operate a little differently than other controllers do, so I'd suggest checking some Youtube video reviews for how they work if you think you will use them.Other good to haves: 1000Hz polling rate.Special Features:Reversible joystick / dpad module - This was the main draw of this controller for me. Depending on what I'm playing I usually swap controller and it leads me to always having a symmetrical layout and asymmetrical layout controller that I'm looking for. Being able so solve both with a single controller would be a dream!Magnetic faceplate - Potential for personalization is always a positive in my book.RGB - The handles have RGB shining through a hexagonal pattern, but your hands will cover most of it while you're playing and it doesn't light up while charging so it mostly seems like a waste.Ergonomics & Functionality:I'm moving this section before concerns in my reviews moving forward so I can focus on out of the box functionality before getting to any problems.I find the controller ergonomics fine. My fingers naturally rest on the triggers and the way they rise to a point does not bother me like it bothers others. The rubberized back gives me a great grip feel compared to mostly anything else in this price range. My main complaint with the ergonomics is that the higher row of rear buttons is a bit awkward to press. My middle fingers naturally rest on the lower row and it's a bit unnatural feeling to raise them due to the shape of the controller, and you can't trigger them from below like you can on a controller like the Apex 4.I very much like the dpad as you'll find out later. If it was a touch lighter to actuate I think it would be perfect for me, but as it stands it is great. The joysticks come out of the box with a large deadzone. They don't hide this fact, it's even stated on the website for this controller that the inner deadzone is 10 and outer is 20. If you are fine with this you probably don't have anything to worry about, but I will get into my concerns with this later. Do also note that these joysticks use an algorithm to give the illusion of perfectly circular input rather than raw output, which may be a detriment to certain types of games.Overall, the controller feels very responsive to me via wireless dongle. I am not feeling latency like I do with the GameSir Tarantula Pro which gives me confidence when playing faster paced games.QC / Durability Concerns:This is the main area where the controller will lose a star for me.While the deadzones are large out of the box, you can use an app on Android/iOS called KeyLinker in order to adjust some settings on the controller. I didn't like the large deadzone so I decided to lower the inner deadzone from 10 to 3 on both joysticks, and the outer to 0. This revealed some decentering in the joystick contained within the reversible module.Upon contacting Nyxi, they did provide calibration instructions... which did recenter the joystick properly, but after that I lost some motion range when checking with Gamepad Tester. This led me to requesting a replacement from Amazon.Sadly, the replacement also was off center out of the box, but less so than the first controller. This time I was able to center it without losing range of motion using the same calibration instructions provided by Nyxi. On both controllers, the right stick, which is fixed into the controller, was perfect so perhaps this problem is only affecting the reversible module.I have my suspicions that they are perhaps getting marginal hall effect joysticks from k-silver and are setting high deadzones out of the box to mask that the joysticks are not perfect. If the high deadzone out of the box does not bother you then you likely won't have to worry about it. The inner 10 and outer 20 deadzone out of the box with the first unit was enough to mask any joystick module problems but they showed up clearly once I removed that limitation. My other worry is that a few times, I have had random disconnects while playing. This seemed to resolve itself after I moved the dongle to a different USB port with the first controller, but it seems to have reappeared on the second. It's not cool to have your controller randomly disconnect in the middle of a Tetris Effect Zone battle though.Other than those, I don't have any other concerns at the time of my initial review.Tests:Test 1 - the Tetris dpad test. I play games on Tetris at as fast of a pace as I can (I'm roughly a 1 minute sprinter in modern Tetris games) and see how many false hard drops I get. This controller does not give you false hard drops as it takes a bit of intentional force to rock into another direction as mentioned earlier. As such, I was able to take my personal best sprint in Tetris Effect down to 54.04 from 54.50 (set with the Apex 4). I plan to main this controller for Tetris moving forward, but a theoretical 8BitDo Pro 3 could probably dethrone it.Test 2 - Practical joystick resolution. If you play Genshin Impact, there is a function that allows you to set the time of the day, and you can get a good idea of how much resolution a joystick has by how easily you can set a precise minute on the clock. The resolution of the joystick allows you to adjust the clock to the minute without issue.Test 3 - Is this really on? With some wireless controllers, just plugging in the dongle acts as if the controller is turned on even if it is not. This can be an issue if you use multiple controllers on your PC and don't want one to constantly be "player 1." A pass means that you can leave the dongle connected without it registering as a controller and fail means that the dongle itself takes up a controller slot. This controller: PASSIn Conclusion:If the high deadzone out of the box is fine with you, there's a decent chance you'll be happy with this controller, especially if being able to change from asymmetrical to symmetrical is appealing to you. If you are a player that wants a lower deadzone though, your mileage may vary.I am happy with the controller from a performance standpoint. It offers me a symmetrical option that has good resolution joysticks, low felt latency, microswitch face buttons, and a very good tactile dpad for Tetris and other games that demand directional accuracy. On the other hand, I feel I was probably lucky to get a sample that could be calibrated to spec with a lower inner deadzone setting and zero outer deadzone setting, and the dongle disconnects are a concerning issue. NYXI's customer service was responsive and helpful with my initial controller so I feel that I can probably communicate my concerns with them and perhaps the disconnects can be resolved through firmware, and if they stick with this design, maybe they can offer module options like dish dpads and TMR joysticks without calibration issues. On the whole, I think NYXI is on to something here and has a good platform and idea moving forward. At the current price I think it's a decent buy and without the quality concerns I'd have zero reservations recommending it, but unfortunately those quality concerns do exist and at a similar MSRP, I'd probably suggest an 8BitDo Ultimate 2 currently if are fine with a permanent asymmetrical layout. If NYXI is willing to take this to the next level though, this controller could be a huge contender in the market, even if it adds a bit to the price. I'd love to see a TMR stick version with optional dish style dpad, an adjustable trigger stop, a more ergonomic rear button layout, and other colors and faceplate options for a very complete customizable controller.I am keeping this controller though because Tetris lol.

I really want to love it but...
The good: The buttons are awesome. Nice and clickly. I love that I can switch to Playstation config and its incredibly easy to do too! Controller feels great for the most part. I main the PS DualSense Edge and used to use the Xbox elite controllers but had issues with the right bumper on 2 of them. The Bag and Ugly: The triggers just kill it completely for me. They stick out way too far. I could excuse them sticking out like this if they were rounded like the Xbox Elite. but they arent. The point sits right on my inner knuckle on my middle finger and is extremely uncomfortable. My friend bought one too and has the same issue. Idk if the triggers are swappable. Im gonna try and take it apart this weekend and see.First Pic: Comparing to the Xbox Elite. Xbox has the nice rounded trigger, where the NYXI has a sharp edge right where the innter knuckle rests.Second Pic: Look at how much it jets out compared to the PS DualSense Edge.

oversensitive paddles and poor modularity
so the biggest problem with this controller is just that the back paddles are too easy to press accidentally. this isn't a problem with their placement, they just used switches that are way too easy to press. it's wild that a manufacturer like razer can manage to do this right but other, generally better companies continue to screw it up, but here we are.the other problem, about which i'm personally annoyed about but most folks won't care, is that this is yet another "modular" controller that for some cruel reason won't let you swap the right stick and face buttons, wii u style. it's just a way better layout for any dual stick game, ie a solid 70% of modern games, but we have to settle for sony's 2D-centric layout or microsoft's, um... well, theirs is great for 2D games with analog movement if you can find any of those, i guess?look. i'm a thousand years old and have actual legit arthritis and i just want a comfortable layout for first and third person games, alright? if this at least got the paddles right it'd be fine for a lot of folks, but as it is it just feels pointless. there are better options for both sony and xbox layouts, and while this may technically be the least bad semi-modular controller, that's not much of a win considering the competition has the same problems but costs 3x as much
