Easily holds 40kg very sturdy

I was initially curious about the low price, but unfortunately, the first impression wasn’t great. The product arrived loosely wrapped in a bag, and the build quality immediately felt cheap. Once I started using them, the hooks would frequently shift or nearly come off the barbell while re-racking, contrary to the "anti-slip" claim in the listing. This raises serious safety concerns, especially if you're using them to hold dumbbells above your head. Personally, I wouldn't trust these for any overhead movements. I’d rather pay more for a higher-quality, more secure one than risk injury.

These are an outstanding addition to our home gym. I'd seen some similar 'hooks' previously at many times the cost of these, so when I was offered the chance to review them I jumped at it. At £11.09 at the time of this review the convenience and benefits vs value for money are off the scale. I'm in my 60's now and don't lift as much as most people will, but I still regularly press 45kg dumbbells. I only have access to less expensive equipment, no professional gym fixed size dumbbell rack for me, it's simple bars, plates and spring holders all the way. The biggest problem and the greatest risk of injury is in getting them off the ground. It's easy peasy with the standard gym rubber dumbbells that are fixed, but with my simple set up it's a real pain. These lovely little rack hooks are absolutely fantastic for my needs. I can load up the dumbbell whilst it's on the bar in the rack, use the dumbbells exactly the same as usual, then either floor them if necessary or hook them back on the bar. In use it was a little strange at first because I lift the hook off the rack and lift the hook along with the dumbbells. There's no instructions at all but I'm guessing that's the way it's supposed to be done with the nylon strap at the bottom, you'd probably never get them back where they were to start with otherwise. After a couple of sets I got completely used to it and I wouldn't be without them now. The load rating for these is 110kg per hook but I'll never get above half that. For home gym use for the vast majority of people I think these are excellent and a cost effective addition to your equipment.
