Don't want third-party account just to use it!
Nowhere does it say that I would HAVE to sign up for a third-party account! I don't understand why, once it's at least connected to WiFi, that Assistant cannot gain control of the device itself. I don't want a third-party having access to ANY information about me, my phone, or my network!! This is precisely why the "Works with…" environment is WHOLLY BROKEN and until standardization occurs, this is clearly not an eco-system which works for anyone except data harvesters.(With deference to the actual product, it does work correctly despite the arcane need for a third-party account.)

Works Great - Connection to WiFi Needs to be Simplified
10/18/2019 update: I purchased a 2nd one of these devices as I have been very happy with the first one! They both are working great and I couldn't be happier with them....especially with the extremely reasonable price!!! I do wish they would make it 2.4 or 5 compatible so that set-up is easier, but if you turn off the 5g option on your modem during setup (and turn in back on when setup is complete) the setup and continued operation works perfectly. After using this devices for quite some time now, I can highly recommend it for anyone who wants to be able to control devices with Alexa! This works great for turning on and off my living room lamp from any room in the place. However, I never would have been able to get it to install were it not for another person's review saying that he needed to go into is modem/router and turn off the 5G because it cannot connect to a WiFi modem that is running both 2.4 and 5 at the same time. Once it is connected you can go back in and turn your 5G back on so you have both running at the same time. This is a MAJOR design fault. The manufacturers need to make it connectable to both 2.4 and 5 as most modems/routers are now running both, and most people do not know how to go in and disable the 5G and re-enable after setup.

Easy and effecient smart plug.
I already have smart life app so installation was a breeze. I got the smart plugs for heaters for two rooms. This will help keep energy costs down.

Good value. Less than ten bucks. Works just like the big boys.

Inexpensive but NOT cheap! Works with 5k btu wall air conditioner!
Works great. I have a 5000 btu wall air conditioner plugged into it with the smart life app. I can't get my echo dot to recognize it anymore but I belive that's a problem on my end not the units. I did have it working when I first got it, replaced my router and now have the issues. However I have my ac on a timer to auto on at night, auto off early a.m. so I don't have to walk upstairs every night to turn it on manually anymore. Worth every penny for this unit.

Works, But has Unstable performance , Lack of warranty info
I bought two of this items and used one of them for my Electric car charging , the charging takes 10 Amps, that makes some heat on the smart plug. It started to get disconnected to the WiFi time to time. It says 16 Amps !!!OK, the description page says "Life Time Warranty", guess what? I can NOT find any contact information to use this warranty. Google the company name "powerbear', you can find a few company with same name, but not the right one.

This is my second Powerbear smart socket.
I have several of these and think this is probably the best value for the smart plug. Setup is very easy and they connect to Alexa almost automatically. Not sure if this product is UL approved. To setup you use the Smartlife app and for some reason I had to use the AP mode for setup but it worked first time. I would give it A. I have other brand smart plugs and sockets and most are pretty user friendly to setup.

Works Great and has power meter!
I bought the 16 amp version for turning the TV and related equipment on and off to save power. To my surprise it has the ability to tell you how much power is being used under "Statistics." So this plug exceeded my expectations. I have been watching and have not seen any signs of over heating. It does not have advanced features like being able to set conditions based on power usage.
