Works exactly as needed and is a great accessory for work. Provides a stable, fast wired connection, is easy to use, and feels sturdy. No issues with the setup—excellent choice for laptops without a built-in Ethernet port.

A genuine Lenovo accessory at about 1/3 the price. Works exactly like it should.

It works perfectly. The only thing is, the adjacent usb-c port on my Thinkpad T490s became inaccessible when this ethernet adapter (as designed) was plugged in. So, I cut off almost the entire left side of the rubber+plastic housing. Now I can use both the ethernet adapter and the extra usb-c port. I highly recommend doing this. Use a rigid razor sharp blade to cut off 1/2 to 2/3 of the housing, then gritty sandpaper, then fine sandpaper. Lenovo, at least just design an adapter that fits. You don't even need to redesign the laptop. Otherwise, rational customers will chop off the left side of the housing of your product and be correct and justified in doing so. (end rant)

Works well, does exactly what I need it for.

I ordered this to connect my external drive to my router that does not have a USB port but I forgot to order a female to female adapter. I just wasted $ and i am going to have to install the drives in a computer case and set it up as a (really) poormans NAS.

New Lenovo doesn't have an Ethernet port? You still need to hook up to an Ethernet port for some tasks? You need this, it's made by Lenovo it does what it is supposed to.

This is a correct dongle for Carbon X1 6th generation. Shipping was extremely fast and item works well. If you are installing it in new Carbon X1 you need to remove plastic tab that covers the port on the laptop.

When you have multiple items plugged into the thinkpad, there is not a great deal of room to attach this extension. I had shave plastic off the sides of the plug /jack to fit it into the Ethernet port along side the jacks for the other devices. That said it still works as I wanted (ie avoiding use of our wifi network).

I needed this because the refurbished ThinkPad laptop I recently purchased had a non-standard ethernet socket. Apparently this was so the case could be made thinner. This cheap adaptor has solved the problem but I have needed to tape the conventional ethernet plug to the adaptor socket because it kept falling out. I think this was a problem with the ethernet cable, not the adaptor, so I give the adaptor a score of 5.
