Really great android based E-ink device.
Fantastic E-reader. Don’t pay attention to the negative reviews here complaining about not having the kindle app. The people that left those reviews clearly don’t understand that this is an android based device, very different from Kobo, nook, or Kindle. All apps available to android devices (to my knowledge) are available on this device due to its use of android and the google play store. All you have to do is login to your google account (YouTube, Gmail, etc.) and you will be able to download any ebook app you desire. Personally I don’t like the included ebook app NeoReader. It’s a completely fine app, however every time you lock the device it resets the app from the current book back to the shelf. This may be an option that I’m missing in settings, but I prefer that when I open my ebook apps, that they automatically re-open the last book I was reading. Instead of NeoReader, I side loaded an app called KoReader. I’ve used this before on Samsung phones and really liked it. The one negative I can find about the device is the finger print reader. It’s not a terrible fingerprint reader, I just have frequent fingerprint read fails and I just have to lift my finger and reposition it. Not a huge problem, but something to consider. Battery life is great, only if you keep WiFi and Bluetooth off. With both on, the battery drains quickly and will probably only last a day or two. With both turned off, I would have gotten 5+ days, but I recharged it on the 5th day just because I wanted to make sure it would last while at work. I have a Kobo Libra 2, however that has been relegated to the shelf since this device is just so convenient and powerful! I love that I can put it in my pants pocket and take it everywhere I go, something I cannot do with larger ereaders.

My favorite little travel E reader!
The Boox Palma 2 is an amazing E reader with alot of features and customize abilities. This is not a color E reader but is still functional all the same. You can change the font, screensavers and tons more. I recommend if you're having any trouble with features, ghosting etc you find a YouTube video to assist. I've been able to read on this reader for over a week without needing a charge & it has Bluetooth as well so you listen to audio books. Fits in the palm of your hand, great device for travel, highly recommend. Android system so you can download any apps, KU, Pinterest even games.

The size and app compatibility makes this my favorite
I was really struggling to choose an e-reader considering the number of choices out there. Ultimately I settled on the Palma 2 and so far I love it. The fact that it's essentially an Android phone without the cellular feature is the biggest selling point for me. I have books across kindle, play books, and multiple other third party services, so I really didn't want to lock myself into an ecosystem requiring cumbersome side loading. Response time for the screen is very fast but you can configure it to multiple levels depending on the app you're using and your tolerance for ghosting. I love the configurable action button and volume rockers. Physical page turning buttons was another big factor in my decision; you can dictate what the volume rocker does on a per-app basis. The screen is very crisp, even with tiny text, and the adjustable brightness and light temperature sliders allows me to find a comfortable reading configuration for all times of day and in all types of environments. I think some people may prefer ereaders with everything set up for you from the beginning, but this is the perfect device for someone with multiple reading apps that doesn't want to be locked into a single ecosystem.

Compact but Mighty!
One of the best e-readers I’ve ever owned! Compact, long battery life, and has amazing storage. The fact that it’s an Android powered device is an added bonus. I love the convenience it gives me, where I don’t need to carry my laptop and bigger e-reader everywhere. And reading, late at night is amazing with the soft backlight, and I can change the intensity of it if I wanted. No more reading headaches. 10/10!

Absolutely frustrating gadget with no setup instructions...
Product doesn't work. Spent 4+ hours trying to get WiFi connected. No user manual, no instructions, not intuitive. Great idea for an E-reader, to fit in your pocket to have with you whenever you want, but it won't connect to WiFi. Tried 3 different WiFi networks at home, Starbucks and at work. Wouldn't connect to any of them. Boox website does NOT show basic setup instructions for Palma 2, just instructions for Boox tablets. One of the most frustrating gadgets I've ever dealt with. Maybe I got a "lemon", but after all the frustration I'm not even going to bother trying again. You'd think that something that costs nearly $300.00 for an E-reader would AT LEAST have a basic set of instructions on how to set it up initially the box. Even YouTube doesn't cover basic setup, just "optimizing" after you've managed to connect to WiFi and download the appropriate apps (Kindle, Libby, etc.). Sticking with my Kindle for now, despite really wanting a pocket sized E-reader.

Good at what it does. But laggy.
It's a lot less responsive than the Paperwhite 2024. It lacks auto brightness and auto temperature control (for less blue light at night). The negatives aside, the display is very nice and it's a useful form factor. I find it pleasant to read on. It fullfills the function of phone sized e-reader. I also have the Hisense A9 with similar for factor. the display on the boox is much better and the boox is also light. The textured back make it easy to read with one handed. I bought a protective case but im not sure that ill use it. My main gripes are it's laggy especially when typing and the lack of auto brightness and nighttime controls for the display.

Very Nifty!
I have other e-readers and what drew me to this is its portability. Pros: 1. Very comfortable to hold. 2. Fast and snappy compared to other readers when navigating around (using Balanced setting). 3. The apps I can load. So far: Libby, Kindle, Hoopla, Audible, CloudLibrary, and Goodreads. You can download other apps and watch videos but my main use is for books/audiobooks so those are what I have for now. Cons: 1. Battery life. Doesn’t last as long as a Kindle which is expected. 2. Screen fragility. I’ve read many sources saying they have had issues with the screen breaking. This has made me more careful compared to my Kindles. 3. The official case from BOOX is not worth it. Very cumbersome and non-ergonomic. If you buy this e-reader, I suggest a pouch and a back case if necessary. Throw in some finger strap if you need them. 4. The price. It is heftier than other e-readers. Conclusion: If you want portability coupled with an open system, then I recommend it.

Perfect e-ink device!
I am very picky, and have tried many other e-readers. My Kindle and Kobo won’t connect to Xfinity wifi at work, but the Boox Palma 2 does. It has SO many features and all the apps that I want from Google Play. It has 128 GB, and most e-readers have 32, plus it has a card slot for more storage. I am very satisfied.
